Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

So this is an interesting problem. The multiple ways of using this $10 line for home internet are:

1. T-Mobile Gateway + cudy - will give you LTE at the best because of the Cudy limitation
2. M2100 hotspot device - Hit or a miss - native out of the box but less reliable
3. Orbic 5G hotspot device - more reliable than the m2100, however some people have reported throttling after 1st couple of months
4. Gateway + Project Genesis - works most reliably
5. TMOHS1 - ~ 30-50 mbps out of the box, no TTL update required
6. Tmobile Franklin - ~30-50 mbps with TTL update - the most reliable as of right now, however limited speed..

I am going to update the wiki with this info and hope people can update/correct it.
can you expand how this setup works

4. Gateway + Project Genesis - works most reliably

And why, with #1, do you have yo use cudy?

I was under the impression that the Gateway (T-mobile KVD21) can be used with any router that can change the ttl, like an ASUS router.

Think he was using cudy as an example since cudy has TTL feature built in. Asus router will work as long you know how to flash custom firmware to it to enable TTL. Im using Asus router with merlin firmware myself.

Thats correct. You dont "HAVE" to use cudy, none the less cudy will serve the purpose. Kindly update the wiki with that info and also add example of routers which can be used with that setup. Can you name a few for my reference? I have Nok5G21.. need to buy a 5G router Smilie

I do not know about the actual setup. Around page 250-254 of comments there are references of some people scoring free routers from the project and making use of it...

What sussig said is about right, most any modern ASUS router that can run marlin, flash is just downloading a zip file, unzipping the file, logging into your ASUS router via web browser and going to admin and installing firmware from file, popup will allow you to chose file, than ASUS installs firmware. after that it is just writing or copying a script to the router, I think.

Sussig likely can give you all the details as I eat crayons.

oh, and if your in a high speed area and your speed sucks, maybe adding an external antenna would help… youtube has videos on that.

im still rocking the free tmobile router that tmobile gave out few yrs ago. I had to flash it to a regular asus firmware then flashed merlin on top of it (merlin doesnt support tmobile version of firmware)

here is a list of asus routers that is supported by merlin

Cannot get Genesis SIM without buying the included hardware.

I highly doubt a Genesis SIM will work inside a TMHI gateway. But Someone should test though.
