Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Just got off the phone with the support. The rep said in order to add the HD pass I need to upgrade to the business tablet plus plan which he said is $70 vs $10..

I thought you were the one who figured out that if you pulled the battery at the right time the unit would stay active? https://slickdeals.net/f/15673165-10-month-t-mobile-unlimited-tablet-line-10?p=155502250#post1555022...

That was what I was trying when I thought it didn't work because of the lack of any lights on the unit but it did in fact continue to function despite that.
Oh Yeah, I had completely forgot about that trick. That still works. Since, I was using Orbic until yesterday, it completely skipped my mind. As the Orbic keeps showing up no service now with any TMO SIMs for me, I switched back to TMOHS now as that has better speeds than the FranklinT9.

Took me few hours for figured out. None of them work with Mac until I tweaked around and It works and fast enough.
Can't complain $10 lol

Much appreciated for all the helps here to everyone!
Did you have to run JFFS scripts?

Wait, I thought you installed Merlin onto an Asus router and tweaked the TTL on that one?
Correct! But I had to tweak around to make it works for both windows and Mac. Otherwise, it was only work on windows.

Your earlier reply sounded different, that's why I double checked.

Care to elaborate on your tweaks when you have a minute?

Yes. I had to create the JFFS script, I had no file nor directory of JFFS then.

That's when you thank them, hang up, and call back to try again with another rep. No use arguing with a rep when it's easier just to move onto another one and keep trying until you get a rep who'll add it for you on this $10 tablet line.

Something about apple that I don't know.
None of my iPhones, iPads, MacBook, and iMac worked with TTL modified via toggle and manual.

But all of above are connected to router via wireless only. Asus router is only one wired connect to Gateway

I did just thank the person for the help and hang up, I'll try again sometime. The rep was telling me he couldn't find it, was asking if it's an upgrade to the line or something else. How were you able to get them to help if I may ask?

Just simply ask if they can add the HD video pass code to your account. The specific SOC code is "HDVPASS0" as mentioned in the wiki. If a rep isn't sure it can be done, just ask them to try it as "you have a colleague with the same business tablet line who has it so you know it's available for the tablet line". If you get someone unwilling to do so or tells you otherwise, hang up and try again as there's many T-Mobile reps and obviously it can be done so just work your way through them until you get someone willing to add it for you.

Does the "pass" ever expire? If not, what reason is there to not add it?

It doesn't expire; no reason not to add it.
