Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Just got back to the US and all worked well. Reconnected to Tmobile network once I landed and got full speeds. Really happy with the convenience of this plan.

What I am not happy about is the notice I received Tmobile leaked my name, DOB, phone numbers, etc. Really big risk for sim swapping unfortunately, so I can't use these lines for anything important now.
Did you use the T-mobile SIM data when you were abroad? If so, would you be able to share your experience?

Leaving this here for those who are interested in adding more lines to existing business account.

I opened my business account about 2 weeks ago with the free (after 24 months of credit) Samsung A7 Lite tablet + $10 SIM line. I was approved for 12 lines after the credit checking stage at that time. After using the SIM on my phone (my primary phone plan is through an Mint eSIM) for 2 weeks with great satisfaction (I get ~350-650 Mbps with my Galaxy S22), I decided to add a line so I can use it on my spouse's phone.

I chatted with a rep yesterday via Facebook Message and was able to successfully add a $10 SIM line. I was quoted a "Device Connection Charge" (a.k.a. activation fee) of $35, but the rep waived that for me after I asked nicely Smilie In the end, there is no charge to my credit card, and my new SIM card will arrive in 2-3 days. My ultimate goal is to port out our numbers to US Mobile (before their 100 day promo expires), and then just sign up for the $5 plan for each line once the promo ends. That way, we will be paying $15(+tax) per line a month for ~50GB data + 2,500 talk/text. No more worrying about going over the mobile data limit every month.

The problem I'm facing is that if you get SMS/group message on your Mint, you have to switch Primary SIM to Mint to download the message, then switch back to T-Mobile SIM.
I have friends that send SMS/group message and it has been annoying to switch SIMs every time. I also have Samsung S22. Also when placing call, you have to remember every time to select Mint SIM instead of T-Mobile SIM (T-Mobile SIM will be the default since it's selected as Primary SIM so it can provide data instead of Mint).

By porting both Mint eSIM phone numbers to US Mobile ?

I personally don't use text messaging that much, but yes I agree that it's pretty annoying to have to download Mint messages through switching the primary SIM to back and forth.

As for the default SIM for calling new (or existing) numbers, I think I accidentally found a solution the other day while experimenting with other calling apps. Below is what I did to make my default calling SIM as Mint while T-mo is the primary SIM for mobile data:
  • Download "Phone by Google" from the Play Store
  • Open the installed app and make it default for calling - this will be temporary.
  • Press the 3 vertical dots on the top right and go to Settings
  • Select "Calling accounts" under General section
  • Change "Make calls with" to Mint eSIM (or whichever you want to make the default)
  • Uninstall the "Phone by Google" app
  • Open Samsung's default phone app and type in some numbers from the dialer. Voila! You'll see that the Mint eSIM is now set as the default.

It seems that the Google phone app is changing the default calling account permanently by doing above. I couldn't find such settings in the Samsung phone app.

Yeah I went to Europe multiple times, first time with an Orbic 5G which worked fine, last time with the plan on eSim on my iphone 14 pro max, no issues, just 256kbit speeds, everything worked great. I never got 5G anywhere but LTE all over, likely a limitation because it's throttled. I get 5G and speeds up to 700mbit when in the US with no issue.

My primary line worked fine for wifi calling and texting including group texts over this tmobile line as data line abroad too.

I posted a few times about this in the thread if you want more details.

It's one of the US Mobile's "Individual Plans" which provides 500MB of data + 2,500 Talk & Text per month.

Ok, I see it. Another alternative is just use Google Voice. Are you using a Samsung phone? With Band Selector app - I can make TMobile primary and other sim primary for calls/texts. This feature is probably not hidden on Pixel or IPhone.

H2O also has $60 unlimited talk/text for year

Yes, Samsung Galaxy S22. AFAIK, Band Selector app does not work with the recent Android OS updates.

Thanks for the H2O suggestion, but it seems that only iPhones are compatible with their eSIM plans.

Do you have good tmobile signal at your location? Maybe have to activate the sim in a tablet first.

I would go in reverse order and make sure you can get data from the KVD21 first before you connect the Cudy but your steps are correct.

Can you put the sim card in another device like a phone or tablet to make sure it's activated and receiving data before putting it in the gateway?
I placed the SIM card into my phone and it can pull data. When I use my gateway in other locations in the city, I continue to get "no signal" even though the T-mobile map says I have 5G coverage everywhere.

I took the gateway to a T-Mobile store for a replacement (which I knew wasn't really possible because I bought it brand new on eBay from a 3rd party). They told me that the gateway won't be able to receive signal because there is no home address associated with it. Does anyone know if it's true that I'm supposed to register the KVD21 to my account for it to work or something along those lines? If that's the case, do you know how to do that? I thought all this time, it was just a matter of inserting the SIM card for the gateway to work like you do with a phone.

Wouldn't the address of the 3rd party who sold you the router be associated with it? In any case I don't think that is true, about needing an address.

I did have a situation where my gateway direct from Tmobile showed no connection after a fall. Brought it to another location, still no connection. Put sim in a tablet and it worked. Next day, gatway wouldn't even power on. Thought it might be issue with the power adapter since that power adapter didnt work on a spare gateway i had (from ebay) either. When i used the power adapter from the spare gateway on the one i thought was broken, it suddenly got connection. Later in day, the power adapter that i thought was broken started working again. Just a weird chain of events. If you can, maybe try different sims in the gateway or see if you can find different compatible power adapter.

Hmm, probably should have gotten a used, rather than new, from eBay.

If you are replying to me, I dont know for sure, but the gateway from Tmobile might have been used. The box was a little beat up and the power cord was a little dusty. The gateway had the protective sticker over the screen though. When i chatted with tforce, they admitted they sometimes send out returned units, since they are providing the gateways free of charge. Still covered by warranty however.

The tmobile provided gateway was for Tmobile Home Internet use. The 2nd one was for the tablet plan.
