Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Thx! Appreciate the help.....
Btw, here is an example of my commands in putty, after nano firewall-start - that creates the script - I copied and pasted the code fbueller posted, was also posted earlier in thread my other SDer - once in Nano - ctrl-O (letter, not number) - will save, and ctrl-x will exit, then do the chmod command

ls - lists files in directory(folder)
cd - change directory(folder)

Code:
ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC68U 386.9_0 Fri Jan 6 20:03:03 UTC 2023
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/tmp/home/root# chmod a+rx /jffs/scripts/*
chmod: /jffs/scripts/*: No such file or directory Note: I got an error because the directory was empty, firewall-start doesn't exist until the nano cmd
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/tmp/home/root# cd /jffs
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/jffs# ls
addons configs syslog.log
ahs mtd5_backup.bin syslog.log-1
ahs_jffs.log nmp_cl_json.js usericon

cert.tgz nvram wglst
cfg.json scripts
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/jffs# cd sc*
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/jffs/scripts# ls
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/jffs/scripts# nano firewall-start this is where I entered editor and copied script
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/jffs/scripts# ls
firewall-start
admin@RT-AC68P-9878:/jffs/scripts# chmod a+rx /jffs/scripts/* now chmod works because the file is there
One thing , it looks the script sets it to 66, only if the main internet is coming from gateway/modem at (192.168.12.1 ) - not sure that work in all cases such as connecting to a phone

For Merlin on the AC-68U this worked (unsure about AX82U) -

if [ `ip route | awk '/default/ { print $3 }'` = 192.168.12.1 ] ; then
echo "Set TTL 66 for KVD21"
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 66
ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --hl-set 66
logger "Set TTL for KVD21"
else
echo "Apply TTL 65 for all other."
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 65
ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --hl-set 65
logger "Apply TTL for all other."
fi

}
So the script seems to conditionally set the ttl to 65 or 66 based on the ip route which was based on the ip address of the KVD21 and I am guessing other modem/gateways. Would there be any issue just setting it to 66 all the time?

IIRC I used TTL 68 on all of the arguments, not 66/65. And it works fine.

When I was asking earlier, R@VEN quoted "Some say 66 and others say 68. Both work for me but when I set to 66 the TMobile app shows no data usage at all.'

What is the definition of UNDELIVERABLE? Buyer said unit was sealed. Two "blacklisted" devices in one month = a pattern. Time will tell if this is the beginning of a clamp down.
Quote from coloradoman_in_socal :
@ E4300: perhaps you want to re-read the above
Just to update you guys, I ended up purchasing a new NOK 5g21 on eBay. This time I confirmed with a T-Mobile rep before purchase that its IMEI wasn't blacklisted. After receiving it and setting it up, I'm getting three bars of signal (probably due to me being in a poor location) unlike with the KVD21 that was telling me "No Signal" regardless of my location. I'm also able to download data if I connect directly to it with my phone. So my account isn't automatically blacklisting devices.

I opened up a return request for the blacklisted KVD21 that I have and the seller put up no resistance and accepted the request. So I assume he knowingly sold me a blocked device.

May I ask who seller was on ebay?
It's this farking ass clown [ebay.com]. I'm still in the process of doing a return request with him and he's jerking me around by not sending me a return label and telling me that I have to "wait for eBay to do it". I'm going to escalate the matter later today.

Thanks. Just want to know who to avoid.

Sorry, but I have to ask, what is the reason for the avatar?

I just thought it was an interesting way to stand out among the other users and get people's attention when I post. It's not a pro-Nazi thing. I got the idea from another user who had a very similar avatar, but I haven't seen them post online in about 10 years

Only the USB 2.0 speed limitation of 480 Mbit/s. And you don't get to install your fancy USB-C dock (which I doubt would work in this use case anyway)
So I tried. I was struggling to get USB working. Ironically, I then tried my fancy USB-C dock with ethernet cable and it worked right away. The Samsung S22 has an option to enable ethernet tethering in settings right under USB tethering checkbox

I am getting 300Mbps if I connect to Asus router with an ethernet cable. Unfortunately, on wifi I am only pullling 40-50Mbps, and thats what my devices would use on a day to day basis - so the 300 is meaningless - just for testing

Fast.com I am only pulling 2-3Mbps (I havent tried to add HD Pass yet)

Ok, I can see hotspot data in app, Ive used 1.5gb so far so I have to see if it goes up.

Is the entry under data and hotspot identical or is the entry under data higher?

Or, in other words, did you use more data than hotspot data?

About an hour ago I had 4.4gb data and 1.5 hotspot , now I have 4.9gb data and 2.1 hotspot

basically just watching some SD tv and light internet usage
