Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

My hotspot data is going up
About an hour ago I had 4.4gb data and 1.5 hotspot , now I have 4.9gb data and 2.1 hotspot which is strange
No it's not. Run this in Putty (try command line first before adding it to the script):
iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -j TTL --ttl-set 68 (or use 66 if that's what you used on the other command)

Edit: then download a 1GB test file and watch the meters

My hotspot is going up, its over 3gb now (it was 1.5, then 2.1), everything is through router

I executed the command, so I am going to check it again in a minute

Yeah - hotspot is going up, now at 4.8gb

Just to update you guys, I ended up purchasing a new NOK 5g21 on eBay. This time I confirmed with a T-Mobile rep before purchase that its IMEI wasn't blacklisted. After receiving it and setting it up, I'm getting three bars of signal (probably due to me being in a poor location) unlike with the KVD21 that was telling me "No Signal" regardless of my location. I'm also able to download data if I connect directly to it with my phone. So my account isn't automatically blacklisting devices.

I opened up a return request for the blacklisted KVD21 that I have and the seller put up no resistance and accepted the request. So I assume he knowingly sold me a blocked device.

It's this farking ass clown [ebay.com]. I'm still in the process of doing a return request with him and he's jerking me around by not sending me a return label and telling me that I have to "wait for eBay to do it". I'm going to escalate the matter later today.
I believe the 5G radio inside the Arcadyan is a little better than the Nokia. The 5G signal is highly dependent on placement. A 5 degree rotation of the unit can drop the speed by 50-100Mbps. Get the unit as high as possible to optimize line-of-sight with the transmission tower. Placing the unit within 12-18" from a windows can also reduce signal loss.

I'd let Ebay and the seller know that your next step is to contact the credit card company to file a dispute to the charge. Don't waste your time waiting for the return label. Give them one day to resolve the problem.

I am currently running a 5g21 and Cudy X6 for home internet. On speed tests the max download and uploads speeds are great 600mbps/60mbps but takes a long time to ramp up. The ping is not great at 70-90ms. The result is that web pages load slow compared to cable internet, even though max speed is higher. So my goal is to lower the ping. My smartphone is on the same plan does 40 ms. So I know my location is capable of 40 ms, but they just aren't giving it to the 5g21. What type of ping is everyone else getting?

I've tried positioning it throughout my place especially near windows, but I can't exceed two bars. From cellmapper.net, it turns out that I'm not in the 5G zone even though there are a couple 5G towers near me and the T-Mobile coverage map says that I'm swimming in 5G. So sadly I'm only pulling about 20 Mbps, but it's good enough for me because I'm wired into my router and I don't notice any lag compared to my old setup. With regards to eBay, I already told them about the issue. Basically if the seller doesn't respond in 5 days, I can close the case which will trigger a full refund and I can keep the item.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a second SIM card or clone the original one, so I can use the service with my phone without a second line? Or do I resort to taking the SIM card out of the gateway to put into my phone whenever I leave my place?

No, ironically my data reset today so I am back at 0 across the board...

I also notice if I ping anything from my laptop , I get a ttl of 65 always

Is Hotspot Data also included in total data or it two separate buckets?

Example if I used 2gb on phone,and 1gb hotspot , would data be 2:1 or 3:1 ?

Sure, but you have to remember that old SD used to be like this where people would work together on a deal.

This deal has made a big impact on my data usage and certainly locked me into a plan that (hopefully) will last a long time.

All the info you would need is in this thread and just a search away, and active posters are willing to help someone out.

With that said, my Orbic 5G has now started showing hotspot data as of my bill reset 02/01 unfortunately. Swapping sim to my TMOHS1 immediately stopped the usage, though dropping speeds down to 50/10mbps.I'm unsure why since I did not take it on my last international trip and used the eSIM of this plan on my phone which worked perfectly.

My usage is also not a ton, mostly around 50-60gb a month.

Hotspot is a subcategory of data. In your example it would be 3:1.

Seems like they're targeting the VZW devices now. Probably much easier on their end than going after phones and gateways

I'm running a similar setup except my router is the cudy ax1800 mesh 2 pack. I'm only using one for this connection. I use the other to WISP into a neighbors coxwifi. With the T-Mobile setup I also get high pings. I think it's because of the double nat situation with the T-Mobile gateway. I turned of the wifi radios but it does not allow a bridge mode.

What does it mean to WISP into a neighbor's wifi?

For Merlin on the AC-68U this worked (unsure about AX82U) -

Asuswrt-merlin with jfffs custom script enabled
Both Spoof & Extend TTL disable

Code:

#!/bin/sh
set -x

# Apply missing setting.
modprobe xt_HL
modprobe xt_hl

# Main Rule.
check_home_internet () {
if [ `ip route | awk '/default/ { print $3 }'` = 192.168.12.1 ] ; then
echo "Set TTL 66 for KVD21"
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 66
ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --hl-set 66
logger "Set TTL for KVD21"
else
echo "Apply TTL 65 for all other."
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 65
ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --hl-set 65
logger "Apply TTL for all other."
fi
}

check_home_internet

Then put that code into
Code:
/jffs/scripts/firewall-start

remember to give permission
Code: chmod a+rx /jffs/scripts/*

restart service
Code:
service restart_firewall
is it necessary to reboot router or is the "service restart_firewall" all that is needed?
