Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Higher end 5G phones have much better CA and chips than any of these TMHI gateways; you have a different gateway/hotspot with which can you compare performance ?

Its connecting to band n41.... I can pull up to 600Mbps with sim in phone but 100Mbps when connecting to ethernet port and wifi about 30Mbps down (up is fine , either higher or same), sometimes wifi gets in the 40s - whether connecting directly to the KVD21 or through router

Also internet dropped this morning - was annoying because it took a some time to reconnect work through Comcast

Im wondering if I got a dud device, seller accepted $45
That's probably why he accepted $45. But it's hard to know unless you test another one

I have better performance from these gateways than my high end 5G phone. But it's probably more because of placement. 5G is very sensitive to the spot your in

I agree with this. I would take a short drive to a cell tower and check speeds there with the gateway. If they are higher it is indeed a placement issue. Scott, post your advanced cell metrics for 5G please, that'll be a good start

Just got the 5G gateway. Trying it for 14 days. Can get it for $30 a month. But people are saying you can pop in business tablet sim and get it for $10 a month. I tried with my unlimited personal $10 tablet sim and speeds are like 2mb down, clearly lowered. What am I missing here? Does it only work with the business sim? Thank you in advance.

Also, was able to plug this into my Eero mesh system and it works great. Any way to turn off the Tmobile router and just use my eeros?

For those with KVD21, here is a link to a script that creates a gui to turn on/off wifi

You rename file extension with ps1 and right click, run with powershell (in Windows)

There is a Nater Tater YT video that explains it

I have a Mac, any options for that? This is for windows.

Yes, I still see it, select tblet and proceed to next step - last plan on the page is the $10 TI

I'm able to get to the final checkout but it won't take any credit card info. It just keeps saying to please enter a valid credit card number 😔

I'm assuming I have a good gateway spot because in the same spot I get super fast speeds with a phone , and with the gateway 5 bars

RSRQ -10 (sometimes -9 or -11)
RSRP -91
SINR -3.3
Band N41

Just pulled 47 down and 80 up on wifi which isnt too bad because my ASUS was not putting out much more then that when on Comcast - I am not going to hardwire - maybe my CCwGTV but that would require the adapter. I am more concerned with dropping

You have your answer. Your signal sucks big time. RSRQ should be closer to 0 and SINR should at the very least be positive and at/above 10 (ideally 20).

For comparison, my RSRQ is -3, RSRP -90, SINR 14. You need to find you a better spot where SINR goes up

But when I put in a phone in the same spot I get outstanding speeds. Is there a way to check those values from a Samsung phone?

Could the poor values be the fault of the device itself rather than the position?

The gateways have very directional antennas built in. You need to place it in a spot where your metrics are looking better. A cell phone in the same spot may act totally different

So this is an interesting problem. The multiple ways of using this $10 line for home internet are:

1. T-Mobile Gateway + cudy - will give you LTE at the best because of the Cudy limitation
2. M2100 hotspot device - Hit or a miss - native out of the box but less reliable
3. Orbic 5G hotspot device - more reliable than the m2100, however some people have reported throttling after 1st couple of months
4. Gateway + Project Genesis - works most reliably
5. TMOHS1 - ~ 30-50 mbps out of the box, no TTL update required
6. Tmobile Franklin - ~30-50 mbps with TTL update - the most reliable as of right now, however limited speed..

I am going to update the wiki with this info and hope people can update/correct it.
What/how does #4 work? I have Project Genesis and the mr6400 hotspot. I know I can change it to work with the Tmo sim, but what gateway are you talking about?

Don't need any gateway if using the MR6400
