Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

I'm using Firewalla Gold SE as router/firewall. I set WAN2 from their app to one of the ethernet ports. I use my old router AC68R with TTL mod connected to G4AR connected on WAN.

How is the G4AR, is it worth upgrading from the Arcadyan if I can buy one for around $100?

Interesting. when i logged into my Tmobile business portal I got the below description"

Bus Tablet 10 GB HS TE
$10.00/mo.
Business Unlimited for Tablets Promo includes unlimited texting and 4G LTE data on our advanced network with no annual service contracts or data overages. You also get 10GB of 4G LTE hotspot data (with unlimited max 3G hotspot speeds thereafter), as well as texting and up to 5GB of 4G LTE data in Mexico and Canada. Plus, you get unlimited texting and 2G data roaming in 210+ countries and destinations and unlimited video streaming at DVD quality -- all at no extra charge.

I noticed it does not mention anything about 5G. Looks like it only gets 4G LTE only? I do see a 5G icon on my phone though.

are you using business or consumer portal ?

If I login in to my account on the business portal, I have to go to the line and then select change rate plan, and then I see my current plan and I click view details
I get this

One thing I notice I am missing in this description is the mention of 5g data in the European countries mentioned in Clar's 2nd screenshot - not that I am travelling there anytime soon

Do you have to pay extra for HDVPASS0 to be applied? I already have 2 lines and wonder if i can call in to have HVPASS0 added.

Quote from prism7118 :
NIce! You can go to fast.com and check your speed. If it is around 2.5mbps, HDVPASS0 is not on your line. If it is 6+mbps, then you're good.

The Cudy P5 would supplant the need for Arcadyan as it's cellular + router (and spendy - $400)
I just bought one on eBay open box for $267 free ship plus tax using all Capital One Shopping Portal gift cards. May be selling my Arcadyan

It may be time to dump Comcast if this thing works well.

Currently testing. Set TTL to 68. TMO identifies it as a "5G Gateway TMO-G4AR 5G WHT KIT"

Need some advice here.... Bought Cudy P5 Gateway on Ebay sold open box, IMEI on sticker on device doesn't match the IMEI recognized in TMO. The IMEI in the gateway configuration shows the IMEI as the one TMobile sees in the status of the gateway. The sticker on the box has been removed that should display the IMEI.

TMO account portal recognizes the IMEI as a "5G Gateway TMO-G4AR 5G WHT KIT"

Apparently the IMEI has been spoofed but I am not familiar with how that is or was done.

The router new is $400 on Amazon. I paid about $270 + $20 shipping.

On TMobile Compatibility checker
For the IMEI from the sticker:
Quectel 5G Module
IMEI: 868xxxxxxxxxxxx
This device is fully compatible with T-Mobile's network technology. Tell me more
This device is not blocked from use on our network.

For the IMEI that is spoofed:
Arcadyan T-Mobile 5G Gateway (G4AR)
IMEI: 868xxxxxxxxxxx
This device is fully compatible with T-Mobile's network technology. Tell me more
We can't confirm that this device is unblocked. Please contact the original wireless carrier for information about the device's status Or call us now to complete your order 855-806-2656.

On IMEIPro , both IMEIs show as clean

Its currently working great with the spoofed IMEI, I am not sure if its counting as hotspot yet.

Someone posted steps for setting up a Cudy P5 with a T-Mobile sim card in this reddit thread [reddit.com]. In their case they're using a TMobile Home Internet sim but the settings look to be the same as I would use for this tablet sim (or a regular phone sim). There are instructions on editing the IMEI. Its been awhile since I had to think about this but I believe that with a tablet sim, the TTL setting is the important one and the IMEI doesn't matter. Because that thread was about a home internet SIM, they needed their Cudy P5 to look like home internet device hence the need to spoof the IMEI.

If I were in your shoes, I'd (a) confirm TTL is set correctly and (b) change the IMEI back to original IMEI or to an old phone/device IMEI that I have in my possession. I'd do (b) just to avoid the unlikely chance that the original TMO-G4AR device connects to the T-Mobile network at the same time that your spoofed device connects to the same network with the same IMEI. Or just leave things as is if everything works.

Any risk of spoofing an IMEI using a random generator for a specific device? I guess someone else could connect to the network with the same IMEI but not sure what that would do.

I wouldn't do a random generated number myself; I'd only consider spoofing a number with a device I have in my possession. And with this new rumor that T-Mobile is going to start cracking down in sim cards used on improper devices [tmo.report], I'd go buy a cheap/old LTE tablet (goodwill/ebay) and use that number.

Does it need to be a 5g device if I'm using 5g?

I don't know the answer to that question. And given that T-Mobile hasn't started this rumored IMEI check yet, I'm not sure that anyone can definitively answer this at this point.

Actually, the native IMEI to my device shows up on IMEI checkers as the RM520N-GL which is a very common m.2 card used in laptops possibly tablets. So I'm not going to worry too much about a rumor and I think it might not get flagged anyway. . And if they flag do they just cancel line or do they throttle it do they give you a warning? No one knows at this point

However the device came spoofed so I haven't tried the native IMEI yet so hopefully it works smoothly when I change it back

If one spoofs a device IMEI, it's probably best to use the IMEI of the Galaxy A7 lite that came with the plan originally, if one still has the A7, and if not get a cheap one from eBay.

Now, let's see if a hack exists to spoof the KVD21 IMEI, if one uses it with a TTL adjustable router like some Cudy routers.

Most likely such hack doesn't exist and never will.
IF T-Mo implements the rumored IMEI verification it'll be very easy to see that, for instance, a KVD21 or another device is used that doesn't belong there.
For the KVD21 or other such T-Mo Home Internet devices, I'll be very easy for T-Mo to see that these devices are no longer connected to the plan they were sold for originally.

The same probably goes for the hacked TMOHS1 device, and other similar devices, unless their IMEI can be spoofed to an A7 lite IMEI for instance.

This T-Mo IMEI rumor posted above is very likely valid, as it'll be very easy for T-Mo to implement, but it will probably lose a lot of these subscribers depending on the demands it requires.
If, for instance, it demands that the customer enroll and pay for its Home Internet service, no one will continue with T-Mo as its Home Internet service is not competitive with other hard wired internet services.

T-Mo will probably be forgiving if, say, the A7 tablet has been replaced with an A9 or other similar tablet.

The bright spot on this rumor is that the T-Mo Business plan division is involved here and not its Consumer division, and T-Mo may be far more careful in dealing and losing business customers vs its consumer ones, and it may just focus on its consumer division customers.

Sadly when I got the plan I skipped the offer. I am not planning to put this in to full use until July when my Comcast deal runs out but I want to test it and see how stable it is for work. Right now I am using the sim card in an s24 and Google Fi for calls and texts on their Flex plan which has expensive data. So its kind of annoying to keep taking it out to test. In July I plan to move my Fi to an unlimited plan to burn my remaining credit balance and then switch to either Visible or US Mobile

The Cudy P5 IMEI identifies as this https://www.amazon.com/Waveshare-...B0C2V53W3Z

For some reason I doubt that will be an issue even if T-Mobile does decide to enforce TAC as its simply an m.2 card and difficult to identify the specific device the sim is being used in

The connection stability and performance of the T-Mo 5G internet would depend on the location, but it can be just as stable as Fios with similar speeds of around 300Mbps down but 50-100 up.
Fios is the same up/down of around 300/300Mbps on its least expensive plan.

As I said above:
The bright spot on this rumor is that the T-Mo Business plan division is involved here and not its Consumer division, and T-Mo may be far more careful in dealing and losing business customers vs its consumer ones, and it may just focus on its consumer division customers.

One consideration in spoofing an IMEI would be if that device is a 4G or a 5G device.
For instance, the A7 lite tablet is a 4G device and the A9 one is 5G.
Using a 4G device IMEI on a 5G device to spoof may raise red flags at T-Mo.
So, its probably best to use a 5G device IMEI to spoof in a 5G device. Probably!
Or it may just connect at 4G speeds.

Since the Cudy P5 IMEI has been spoofed at least once, it should be easy to spoof it again with a SAFE IMEI, like that of an A9 5G tablet, so it would appropriately show up on T-Mo as a tablet plan, which is what this Business SIM is.

Just find out how to spoof its IMEI from the other post above, and get an A9 5G tablet online cheap, or from T-Mo if it has some special promos.
A while ago if you had an active phone line, you could get an A9 5G from Metro by T-Mo for free by adding a $20 tablet line for 30 days and then cancelling the line.

877 number at the first post. Get an eSIM device and then get a physical sim later. If you want them to send you a sim it has to be activated on a standard plan before changing the promotion when you get it.
Went to a Tmobile store yesterday and gave the reps the SOC but was told that plan has been retired. Will try the 877 number and wish me luck.
