Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Has anyone tried using the G4AR or G4SE T-Mobile gateway?
G4AR, works just like the KVD21
Not faster or slower without an external antenna.
Only plus is the external antenna plugs.

I wish I did the tablet deal when I originally signed up for this promo.
The cheapest tablet I can find with 5g is the TCL 9183W-2CTBUS71 for $80 + tax new.
Tried to buy a tablet on eBay but was such crap I had to return it . It was supposed to be functional but the screen was so messed up I could not even get to the IMEI. And it was LTE only

With Metro deals you are supposed to be a customer for one month $30+ if BYOD but then the tablet is locked to Metro which is ok, but will TMO know the tablet is locket to Metro. At the moment the TCL is free but the A9+ is $50 (with an existing 30+ days line)

Not sure if a tablet will change anything, all my lines are still full speed in cell phones. One esim the other psim. I just had a long trip and used >50gb data without issues and at high speeds.

Edit : and in flight internet worked fine on AA for full flights.

I'm going international in a few months again though don't expect any issues with that either.

Yeah, I think you are right. They have not enforced it to date and not sure they will. Its just rumor at this point.

Ironically, was trying to see if I could add the A9+ through the T-Mobile Business portal and get a promo but its only if you add a new line which is still available at $15/mo - then tablet is free with 24mo blll credits. But that defeats the purpose, as then Id have two lines and one tablet IMEI.

on another note, FAST.com finally seems normal on my PC and phone at about 5Mbps with HD Pass

On my Onn 4k Pro , FAST.com gets full speed 150 Mbps+ - strange

Interestingly enough it has been 3 years with no changes to this plan, it's been great and the constant $10 per line taxes included has been one heck of a deal.

Does anyone know if changing TTL specifically for ipv6 to 255 will cause hotspot detection? ipv6 was not connecting on my Cudy gateway and was following a fix suggestion on reddit

Any guess as to what is going on? Is it still throttling video despite the speed test results?

This still shows on my bill

Not sure why the expiration (Jan 23) is before the effective date (Oct 23) and why both dates are in the past yet it still shows on my bill. Is it a trick the agents do to make it not expire?

No idea.
I just let it be.

Sadly when I got the plan I skipped the offer. I am not planning to put this in to full use until July when my Comcast deal runs out but I want to test it and see how stable it is for work. Right now I am using the sim card in an s24 and Google Fi for calls and texts on their Flex plan which has expensive data. So its kind of annoying to keep taking it out to test. In July I plan to move my Fi to an unlimited plan to burn my remaining credit balance and then switch to either Visible or US Mobile

The Cudy P5 IMEI identifies as this https://www.amazon.com/Waveshare-...B0C2V53W3Z

For some reason I doubt that will be an issue even if T-Mobile does decide to enforce TAC as its simply an m.2 card and difficult to identify the specific device the sim is being used in
I've been using this plan in a KVD21 + Asus Merlin router for the past year WFH full time with no issues whatsoever. The ping times are slightly higher than cable internet but that hasn't caused any video conf issues. I have since switched multiple family member's cable/fiber internet services to this plan setup and it's all working wonderfully for $10/mth. can't beat that.

Do you know if its possible to spoof the IMEI on a KVD21 ?

Highly doubtful. I changed the TTL in the Asus router to 65 or 66 and it has worked fine. TFB account mgmt shows the KVD21 device online but it hasn't caused any issues. I regularly use 600-800 GB of data per month. I don't think they really care to audit these things.

No.
But you get 5Gb per billing period.
If you are there for 2 weeks, say in the last week of your billing period and the first week of your next billing period you can have 10Gb.
BUT, T-Mobile doesn't like people overseas using so much data and you'll probably get a warning that this is intended for a limited-time, but you'll be able to use the 10Gb.
You can use the tablet as a Hotspot for other devices like a cell phone or a PC.

I believe this is available in 11 European countries, not all, but double check.
It's high-speed data.
