This is a good deal and I repped the OP for posting it. But I'm just giving a reference point that it was $69.99 last year. I bought it then and have been very impressed with it, not only for making rice but also for steaming frozen dumplings (and I'm sure other things that I haven't had time to try yet). Inflation is a thing, and they may not drop it that low again, but at least some may find the discussion in the old thread useful.
I also use this rice cooker as water boiler, it used less electricity than those 1800W water boiler kettle
This is Taiwanese-mother approved. She's made Sushi rice, glutenous rice, porridge's, etc with this rice cooker.

It is also bachelor approved, I've warmed up my pizza, sandwiches, and burgers with it. The seal on it is remarkable.

I mostly make basmati rice. Is a rice cooker pointless for me? I'm finding a lot of differing answers online.

Seems this is the same one on sale for members at $70 5/10/2021 and 8/9/2021.

Odds on another $70 deal this year?

I have this, the "Z" brand is better but this is a good price for a good rice cooker

We only use to cook rice (not boil water and cook pizza lol)

70 -> 80 = 14.28% increase. Sounds about right with this inflation.

My $10 Walmart rice cooker cooks the same bowl of rice that fools pay a premium for, and I eat rice all the time

I'm amazed by the people who think overpaying is better
As someone who has a cheap 10$ and a nice 80$ one they are not the same.

It's like comparing a grilled steak and one you made in the toaster.
