Been this price for awhile. The kasa app is smooth as butter on Android. Connected kasa account with Google Home easily so I can control all my devices in one app. Had one connection issue in my three months of usage be which required me to unplug and replug to reset connection but aside from that, no complaints

There has been a rumor that TP-Link is discontinuing the Kasa product line and the application. TP-Link is transitioning to a product line from a company they acquired. I think that this already happened outside of the US. Has anyone been able to find out what TP-Link's plans are for these? I would hate to invest too much and then have them not function in a year.

Comes out to about $6 something per which is a great deal. These ones are excellent wifi plugs. The app is intuitive and can be linked with IFTTT to control other varieties and such. Even if wifi is off I just use my toe to push the plugs.

I use it with various items such as my lights and cameras to turn on/off when I'm at home or away.

I like these.

Reliable enough to run heaters off of at 1/2 power.

This one doesn't have the energy consumption monitoring I'm assuming?

These work with Hoobs if you have a RaspberryPi laying around. https://hoobs.com. This will allow for them to work with Apple HomeKit. I have been using them like this for a long time now and they work quick and reliably. Just use the TPlink plugin for Hoobs.

How are these compared to Wemo. Because I hate my wemos with every fiber in my body. I keep hoping lutron cassetta will come out with smart plugs but they only have the outside one.

I've had zero problems with these plugs. I did get some newer ones that have energy monitors in them. I think I'll wait for those.

I've had a number of these for up to four years now. I am totally happy with them. They work flawlessly with my Google Home system. Also note, these are the 15 amp versions, which is the best version they make. There is also a cheaper 10 or 12 amp version, so getting the 15 amp at this price is great!

These are very good compared to wemo. I was invested in wemo ecosystem (4 smart plugs and about 6 smart switches) and they kept on having connection issues. Moved to tp link kasa and haven't had any issues since, good luck!

I would put these in up with the same quality as Techin plugs. Pretty solid and a steal at $6

For the purposes of helping people decide on this deal, is anyone familiar with the model numbers that allow monitoring of energy usage and how those models contrast with this one in size, features, and design?

HS103 is only guaranteed at 10A not 15!
Some versions of 103 were 12 or even 15 but those are rare. The only way to know what you gave is to look at the plug after you receive it.

KP115 is model that monitors energy. Other than that, there isn't any difference from a user's perspective. They both are the same physical size and shape and they both operate using the same software and routines. You just don't get the energy monitoring page in the SW.
