I have this generator. It's been great. I was able to run a refrigerator and two small window air conditioners. I've used it a couple of time. I also added the wheel kit. Things to keep in mind: the spark plug is tight for a socket, so keep track included plug wrench. Oil fill is real pain. You must have a funnel to fill (oil plug in near the bottom of the engine and shouldn't tilt the generator to fill or it could gum up the engine or spark plug. It is difficult to know when it is full, so do the last bit slowly and check until full. Finally, keep an extra spark plug, the wrench and a can of starter spray in an emergency kit and along with about 15 gallons of gas. Fill up your car with them every month or so with that gas and refill the gas can to keep it fresh (you could use a gas stabilizer as well, but don't store it more than a couple of months). You'll thank me, especial for the starter spray as this is a pull start.

Yes, let us know when you can buy an electric "generator" that will output 4000w. Well actually that is very doable but it will take you about 10 years running this gennie 24/7 (with premium gas) to make the investment pay out dividends.

Over $100 cheaper than the Amazon price. Wheel kit for this is $47.98 on Amazon.

With current gas prices what they are, i don't know why anyone would buy a gas generator. I'm in the market for an electric one if anyone sees any good deals!

They are not really comparable. What are you trying to do / power?

The generator you linked to is an inverter generator which would be better for more sensitive devices like APC(backup batteries), computers, some TV's etc... Inverter generators are also generally quieter.

Nothing specific just need a generator at home for emergency power. Maybe at least power a fridge or something haha

Good to know, thanks! I doubt I would ever use it to power a laptop or TV haha so would you say OP's deal is better? I got the inverter one from Home Depot for the same price few months ago I'm pretty sure I can return it for a gift card if I get this one instead. Thanks!

For the inverter, you are only going to be able to power a couple of devices but they are MUCH quieter, tend to be more fuel efficient, and a lot lighter (throw in a small car) but cost much much more per watt. Great for glamping and tailgating. Also the power is "cleaner" so in theory they are safer to use on "sensitive" electronics. Now, I say "in theory" because this is mainly hearsay and internet nonsense that non-inverter generators will cause something bad to happen. Tony Todd is more likely to appear if you say "Candyman" three times in the bathroom mirror than a decent non-inverter generator breaking your stuff. Either way, if you connect a $10,000 Viking refrigerator to a $300 generator...you are an idiot.

Non-inverter generators are much better if you plan on using high draw items such as window AC's, refrigerators with compressors, for any type of power tools, and so on. This model even has an RV plug so you can use on a camper. To me that is pretty cool, especially at the price.

They both have their own use and many people own both.
