I am planning a vacation in mid July. If I apply today, would and spend $2000+ on the first month, would I get the 120,000 points in time? Thank you!!
The points usually gets awarded at the end of each statement cycle.
Let's say the cycle ends on the 20th, so get your card next week, and should earn the points around May 20th.

The biggest problem is that IHG only allocates few rooms that are redeemable with points, hence it might not be availble even if you have points.

My application was rejected because Chase determined I've already had an existing IHG rewards credit card (the legacy $49 annual fee).

I called Chase reconsideration line today (888-609-7805). Still, they couldn't do nothing about it. I guess the trick is you can't provide your existing IHG membership number when you submit your application. Otherwise, that would be hard to explain why some legacy card holders got approved back in March. I did the opposite and failed.

They must have changed their policies - I have both their cards. And I remember having a discussion with the agent to adjust the credit lines and we left only like $2,000 on the old card since I was going to close it.

I decided later not to close it - a free night for $49 is a bargain!
