Hi Bravo,

When you ordered your sim did you choose to get a new number? I want to make sure you're not charged anything if you don't plan on using the sim. As a heads up if you did request a new number then your sim is express activated and you will be charged for the following month as soon as that billing cycle comes around. So to be safe make sure to go on to your account and remove auto pay as well as call customer care to cancel your service. If you are porting in your number then no need to worry you wont be express activated and wont be charged.

Hi, I just bought the SIM card (not port in) and I don't have an option to turn off auto pay. I called CS who said I don't have an account and can't turn that off. I want to make sure I'm not charged unless I want to continue with the service, what do I need to do to turn off auto pay and remove my card from my account? I had the worst customer service I've ever experienced when I tried to call to talk to someone about this Frown Thanks

Hi HeyMikeyLikesIt,

Did you already create an account on my.boostmobile.com? did you already receive your sim? You can't turn off auto pay until you have created your account but I would imagine you are still waiting for your sim to arrive. Once you have gotten it created and can sign in to the site i mentioned you should have no problem turning it off.

I was able to get to the order screen (entering address/credit card, etc.), but I get an error after clicking "Buy Now" button. My credit card has a temp auth of $2.18 (or $2.20). I've tried several times using different browsers, computers, and a phone too.

Error message: "Something went wrong while processing the transaction."

Called Boost and they said try again later -- tried again after several days and same result. Anyone else getting this error? Ideas?

Hi, I did create an account on my.boostmobile.com and yes I'm waiting for my SIM to arrive. Should I be able to turn of auto pay at the moment? If so, I am not seeing the option to do so from the support FAQ instructions. Would you be able to please confirm the most current steps I should be able to make in order to turn off AutoPay so I can also confirm from my end? Thanks

Yes happened to me when I used my Juno and Netzero email addresses yesterday. Changing my credit card didn't resolve the issue. However the order went through when I used my Yahoo email address.

Comcast.net isn't accepted at all.

I didn't try gmail because I've already used mine for previous orders

I will try hotmail/outlook on my next order

Is it possible to cancel after 30 days and not pay for the next month? Wondering, in case the service isn't good I would like to discontinue. Any input would be highly appreciated Smilie

Also, how long does shipping tentatively take?

@BoostMobileCS,
Ok, I tried BM again.
Got the SIM, created an account, tried to activate yesterday morning 36 hours ago.
IMEI still shows an iphone SE I don't have.
Called care and give my IMEI and she said it should change after 24 hr. 36 hr ago.
Is this SIM locks to an IMEI?
Can I use any other unlock phone?

Boost has made it totally not obvious how to turn off autopay but I finally figured it out. You have to start a chat with their bot. type in 'autopay'. you'll see a button to 'cancel autopay'. once you click that, the browser switches to a screen where the autopay can be toggled off. I did that and got an email confirmation that autopay has been removed from my account.

This is another really sneaky thing that Boost is doing to wring money out of people.

Could the BoostMobile CS person who posts here please contact me? I have a 2gb SIM bought in December that I was unsuccessful in activating when I tried yesterday. I keep getting the response "Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later." I know the issue is not my phones because I've tried multiple IMEIs, including one of an iPhone 8 that I used to activate a different Boost SIM several months ago. The only issue I can think of why there is a glitch is because I changed my account address from where my SIM was shipped to a different address so that I could get a number with an area code in a different area.
I kept getting the same problem with a new SIM that I ordered. Finally, I decided to plug in an IMEI of a different iPhone and was able to activate. Apparently, the iPhone 8 must still be in their system and thus is ineligible. Also the Galaxy S6 Active that I also tried is apparently not compatible, even though it's an AT&T phone.

I found another way to get to the AutoPay page because as you mentioned, it's not straight forward.
First off, here is a direct link: https://my.boostmobile.com/shop/c.../settings/

Steps:
Go to "Payments" or "Make a Payment" page, then click your profile top right, and then go to settings. This should bring up the AutoPay page where you can turn it off and remove your credit card.

Hope that helps.

Sorry maybe for obvious question, but for roughly $2 we get a first month of service with no other fees or requiring to purchase service, correct? I also understand auto-pay can be switched off once SIM is received and should be no problem to port-out?
Thanks.

Hi Bender7,

Correct if you are unhappy with the service you can port out no problem. Just make sure to call care to have them help you with porting out and closing the account.

What if we don't port out and leave the automatic payment off? Do they still try to charge us, or does the account automatically close?

Calling in to cancel could take an hour and nobody has time for that

I'm glad this was only $1 and some change. I'm finishing up my first month and despite too much time on the phone with customer service - can't use the chat, of course, it's always in the process of being "updated" when I select service issues, surprise surprise! - I have never had working voice or text on my Pixel 3. Data has always worked.

CSRs were nice enough, but utterly useless. If I'm going to pay $25 per month, it's going to be on an MVNO like Visible where the tech support and CSRs are empowered and competent.
