Steps to register from direct tools from memory.
1. Go to ridgid power tools registration. https://register.ridgidpower.com/sign-in
2. Enter model number off the BOX -it may be different than the one on the tool.
3. Enter serial number of tool.
4. Enter purchase date and select other when asked where it was purchased from.
5. Select direct tools outlet from the list.
6. Review and submit.
7. Upload copy of order confirmation from email and save to the tool. I usually print to PDF.
This is the most important part to get quick approvals
8. Go to your dashboard.
9. Click on the "action required" button on the tool. It has a red box around it.
9. Click the hyperlink on the word "here" where it says " Complete this form here" to have your request reviewed within a week.
10. Add previously uploaded receipt again by clicking choose existing one.
11. Click send.

They will review and approve LSA status.

Nice deal, in for one.

If you get this, you should thinking about adding on the reconditioned Ridgid 18V torch light for $6.99 -- not eligible for the LSA, but at that price and no additional shipping it's a steal.

You don't actually need to mail them anything. Just upload your receipt. If the LSA doesn't go through automatically in a few weeks, then attach it to an email and ask them to review your registration.

I haven't mailed anything in since a decade ago.

Easy when bought at Home Depot. With DTO they want you to send them actual paper mail and recommend to make it certified mail.
I've registered all of my DTO orders on the website and never once had to mail anything.

I haven't had to mail anything, either - I just keep checking to make sure when they review and okay them.

Really?!?!? I literally did this last weekend and they told me I had to mail in to get the LSA! I'll try again.

For the record, I bought this exact item from DTO several year ago. Still works great!

PRO-TIP - using a regular 2.0 AH battery is fine for small work/pruning, but if you are going to use this to take down anything with heft, you will need a 6.0 AH battery. I had a large tree branch come down in my yard and it burned through two, 2.0 batteries in a few minutes cutting it down.

Better deal here on the newer model, $69.00 (30% off listed price) and free shipping. I've ordered a shipload of Ridgid tools from them and they all look brand new. Though I don't know if you can register them for the LSA. They have similar deals on other tools.

That says it's used - I don't see any way you could get the LSA.

Click around on the application screen. Somewhere there is a "review my documentation" or "request review of application", something like that. I specifically remember seeing the "mail it in" screen and poking around and finding the button that allows you to continue online. My memory is spotty because after the first time that happened I knew what to do and just clicked through without reading anything.

Used tool without LSA. Far from a better deal.

I used the exact saw from DTO going through 6" roots 36" deep in a hole when I was building my fence and it didn't even wince.

Being able to dog the shit out of your tools when needed knowing you can have it repaired/replaced under LSA is the entire point of Ridgid imo.

Anyone looking at eBay should be aware that Tools Direct is not the same company as Direct Tools Outlet.

Direct Tools Outlet is operated by Techtronic, the company that manufactures Ridgid battery operated power tools.

Awesome, needed this.

Quick question for u all, I know u may have many tools, do u guys stay with one brand or have many different brands of power tools and why?I see deals for other brand tools but don't want to buy another battery/charger for them.
For the most post I stick with one brand for battery convenience (eventhough you can get adapters to attach different batteries to different tools.).
For Ridgid its mostly because of the LSA. While I never had to use it, its nice to know if something happens the tool / batteries are covered.

Ebay link shows $99 for me and USED. To my knowledge you can't register a used tool for the LSA.
