Went 40v, I'd say go 40v or higher going forward. Night and day difference.

You can get third party on Amazon or eBay, but...

If you really want to save $ you can also buy a roll of spool and wind them yourself w/ your empty spools (which is what I do). Literally pennies per spool. Just be sure to get the right size (it's .65), and make sure it's hex line and not just regular.

Here's what I use. I've had this for two years and probably haven't used 10% of it.

I have one of these. I'd classify this as a light duty tool. The spools are pretty small, but the upside is you can get "free" (item cost is free but you pay for shipping) replacements from worx

Hubby just bought a used commercial trimmer, but I figured this would be good to have for light duty/backup in case the other unit fails.

Good to know. $9.90 shipping here for 6. You can get third party ones for less than these free ones cost if you have prime. Not sure if there's a quality difference.

Local hardware stores like home depot has spool that is dirt cheap too. But if people want convenience of having it wound already, then by all means. Yes, it'll take a couple minutes and trouble of winding it, if you went the cheap route.

man, almost had me... right at checkout... and i'm like, I already have 2 gas trimmers, why do i need this... but that battery alone w/ charger is worth it... and i may need a battery for my trailer motor, but just need to run wire to the boat as opposed to putting a small battery next to the trailer motor... this little battery would be perfect... nope! cant do it! ;o)

I have a 40V Ryobi trimmer but I've always liked that Worx had a wheel to make the grass cuts vertically straight. Got one. Thanks, OP.
