Went 40v, I'd say go 40v or higher going forward. Night and day difference.

You can get third party on Amazon or eBay, but...

If you really want to save $ you can also buy a roll of spool and wind them yourself w/ your empty spools (which is what I do). Literally pennies per spool. Just be sure to get the right size (it's .65), and make sure it's hex line and not just regular.

Here's what I use. I've had this for two years and probably haven't used 10% of it.

Good deal for the 4Ah battery (WA3578) and the 1 hour charger, either of which easily cost $30+ refurb from Worx eBay (and a lot more if new). That 1 hour charger (looks like the WA3881) can charge a compact 2Ah battery in around 1 hour and the included 4Ah battery in around 2 hours.

I have the 20V Hydroshot power washer for casual use with (2) 2Ah batteries and a slow charger (3-5 hours to charge 2Ah battery, so up to 10 hours for the 4Ah) so this will be quite a step up. The string trimmer is a nice bonus, though I already have a comparable 18V Ryobi trimmer. I've considered getting the 4Ah battery for $30 previously (it hit close to $20 once a long time ago but sold out fast) but couldn't justify the expense. I've had good luck with Worx products, new or refurb, including batteries (mine has Samsung and Sony cells inside).

ADD: 5% back for eBay purchases with Chase Freedom or Freedom Flex, today March 31 is the last day for bonus categories (Q1 2022).

What's the difference in the two units?
The more expensive one can take other attachments like small tillers.

This is actually a really good deal for that reason alone.

Can this be used on the weeds that are in the cracks of the driveway/sidewalk?

I think that may be incorrect. I believe the 170.2 comes with a 2mah battery whereas the 170.3 comes with a 4mah battery.
My source is According to the question and answer section on Amazon from a 'worx support specialist answer'

The product listings on eBay both show they both come with a battery, but only the 170.3 specifically says it is a 4mah battery.

Yes it's perfect for that.

Too powerful and they run through string. I stopped using my gas because the mix plus running it dry and literally resting through string cost more than a battery that I replace every 4-5 years.

I rewind my spools while watching a TV show. A small piece of tape once done and I have 6-7 spools ready to go. The pack of strong literally costs like$8 and lasted years so far

Get a propane flamethrower for that, youll eat up too much string trying to get into the crack, but yes it will get it eventually but waste a ton of string as it will wear down quick on the hard surface.

Worx makes pretty decent stuff as far as I know. For $38 it's kinda a no brainer. My Ryobi one is barley doing the job.

In for the 4.0 Ah set for the battery and charger alone. Wife likes using her little worx 20v but only has a little battery which runs out fast. This will help her and the kiddos out trimming up. I'll stick with my Kobalt 80v for the big weedz.

Thanks!! In for the cheap one. These are decent units if you don't have a ton of trimming to do.
And yes, it does have a battery.
