I'm aiming for 1440p 120fps will this do the trick? Getting a good deal it's not as important to me as getting one that is actually in stock.

Yes, for most games you should be fine.

I mean, my GTX 1080 performs plenty fine for most games at 1440p 144hz. Depends on your games and CPU as well, but this would absolutely be enough to support 1440p 144hz gaming, assuming your CPU is good as well.

I've always went with average GPUs 60 and 70 models and I've regretted it whenever I play graphic demanding games specially with "ultra" or 4k options.

However, the reality is, most games are not optimized for stable "ultra" graphic performance regardless of your card.

3070 Ti should be a good option for most games.

Not sure. I need a new work station anyway and decided to just make it a gaming rig while I'm at it. I mostly just play stuff with my friends nothing that would truly push the limits. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor so as long as most things run on that and leave me a cushion for beyond. I just sold my 2013 iMac that had a gtx 760m. Hoping this pc can last me another 9 years too. I sold it because civ6 was too laggy after mid game to ever finish any games…

I'm probably going to micro center this weekend to pick up the rest. Based on the logical increments site I need a 12th gen i5 to be at the excellent / outstanding level. Happy to accept any other advice!

Gigabit just dropped the price on a 3080 on Newegg. It's a better card if you are willing to pay the 300$ both will suite general gaming for a while. But the 3080 will give you better frame rate at higher res https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-g...hLHUPsEy2g

If you waited this long you might as well keep waiting since more and more cards are in stock it's only a matter of time until prices correct closer to real MSRP.

This card is a $720 MSRP from EVGA (+ shipping). But the FE version is $600. You have to decide if it's worth $150 more.

Gigabyte has the better card but my experience is EVGA is a better company to work with. Having said that, the number of times you need to contact a company is pretty limited. EVGA has been known for good customer service and returns for years, but it has been a couple of years since I engaged them.

I have an i9-9900k paired with a RTX 3070. I mostly play FPS, doom eternal especially, and it sorta has its days while playing everything on ultra at 1440p 144hz. my monitor is not Gsync compatible Frown

The GPU price is falling, nvidia leaked letter says they're reducing prices to OEMs
and Asus also openly announce their GPU will get price cut around 25% since April 1.

Today, newegg briefly list Asus 3070 for $499: https://www.newegg.com/asus-geforce-rtx-3070-ko-rtx3070-o8g-v2-gaming/p/N82E16814126530?Item=N82E168... [newegg.com]

All the info point to a better time worthy wait for. 3070 ti msrped at $600, this XC3 ULTRA $750 still way higher than it.

I read that Microcenter will sell you a GPU at MSRP if you buy all your components there for your PC build. Supposedly you have to talk to the manager. YMMV

I'm so sad I wanted this card but I finally got one from microcenter the Asus 3060 v2 12gb ram now should I go to the hassle of returning it?

Founders edition, aka models completely made by Nvidia and not a board partner like Asus, MSI, etc. They are only officially sold by best buy.
