This is a good price for the 3070 BUT today is officially the start of the 25% discounts on desktop GPUs across the board due to Biden's removal of the GPU export tax. So you could say the honeymoon for laptop makers is over since it will be harder to justify as Desktop replacements. So expect offers like this to be the norm in the coming days.

Otherwise, specs are decent but dim display ruins it for me. Don't understand why brighter displays aren't more common. Irrespective of indoor/outdoor use, I'll never go back to a dim display after enjoying 450+ on my older Aero

only bright gaming laptops are Asus m16, and Legion 5 pro, rest are around 300

I would say wait too, unless wow deal. RTX laptops have been dropping these last 2-3 weeks. The 3060 laptops first, now seeing 3070. I ended up going with the Strix G15 AE that was on sale at BB for $1400

Um.. US don't make GPUs, so no, there's never an export tax
