I installed one above my garage door outside but under the eave for 2 years now. Working great. Only downside is I can't use the night vision...if I do, it's great but when daylight comes, it's still stuck in that mode and record black and white video. I have to manually turn off that mode so it switches back to color. However I leave my light on at night anyway so no need night vision.

Mine switches automatically. Do you have "Auto Night Vision" turned on inside the Eufy app? You have to set it even if you're it's connected to HomeKit.
i have 3 different models of Eufy standalone cams. It seems like the auto night vision interferes with motion detection. When auto night vision is on, the range of motion detection becomes less, especially at night.
I also turn off night vision. Makes the camera work better and I have exterior lighting that is motion sensing so it works a lot better/faster/smoother.
Run the wire to it. There are 2 plugs on the ceiling where my garage opener uses one...I plug in the other one and drill the hole on the wall to the outside...then run the wire to the camera.

I don't have homekit.
I have that auto night vision option turned off...cuz if I turn it on I'll have that black and white recoding issue. I guess its probably hardware issue on my camera... but doesn't matter anyway..I have my porch lights on at night so I can still see it clear at night.

Try using a different app if this is important - I use tinycam.
