Example. I have it mop+vacuum 3 days a week on the tiles downstairs. Then 2 days a week I have it do all the carpeted bedrooms and office (with no mop attached of course) now it's all automated on the schedule I setup. It learns the floor plan in 1 run which was impressive In terms of how advance the mapping system has become on these things. You literally need to do nothing just run it and it will figure out/map your setup. (Obv move crap off the floor like toys and junk so it can properly clean though)
I have 24x24 porcelain high shine tiles which are a b!tch to keep clean and they look great afterwards. After using just water I noticed streaking so now I use 3 parts hot water and 1 part white house cleaning vinegar (lavender scent) you can google the product its cheap and effective. I also experimented additionally with spraying the mop head with peppermint oil extract. It really made the house smell great, but a bit overwhelming. So now I just use the lavender vinegar and water mix which works great. You don't want to add any soapy chemicals or mixtures into the tank from what I've read as it will clog the lines.
The 297ml water tank gets all the downstairs tiles with water to spare on "medium water" setting (around 800 sqft of tile) As for the rooms with carpets downstairs I just programmed the robot to run a vacuum only session on different days. I was debating the S7 for the mop lifting feature, but after research on YouTube it's more or less useless for anything other than low profile area rugs. Normal bedroom carpet will be too high and the mop will in fact drag on it leaving the fabric wet. The only real benefit to the S7 I see is the vibration feature of the mop to sweep better. That is something I would have liked but this does the job nicely. Don't expect miracles like a deep clean you will still have to do that every now and again for larger stains or dried on gook.
Pro tip #1 Don't leave the wet mop on for more than overnight basically. I left it on wet for 36 hours after the first cleaning at the docking station and it STUNK terribly!
Pro tip #2 buy the 2 pack of additional mop heads for $16 dollars on Amazon (official Roborock brand) otherwise it feels like a chore washing the same mop head constantly. I just throw the dirty ones in the laundry room slop sink and let it sit in water and soap for a few days until they are all dirty and I'm ready to run them in the washing machine.
Pro tip #3 no need to clear the dust bin every time unless you have legit crazy pet hair constantly. I wait 3 cycles now and it still not full. That's not because it's doing a poor job, but rather because it's constantly cleaning so not much is accumulating on the floors anymore.
Yes it's absolutely worth it and I was skeptical at first. It cleans the total 2,000 sqft downstairs with precision and effectiveness. It's also oddly calming watching it on the app make the lines in real time and show you every inch of where it's cleaning.
Have fun.
