Just buy Bifen IT (for indoor and outdoor use) or Bifen XTS (has oil mixed in it so it lasts longer outdoors) at Amazon, Ebay or an online pest control store. It's the same active ingredient as this Ortho product, but is super concentrated and what the pros use, so one small jug of it will last you years and likely be a much better deal in the long run than this Ortho and other premixed retail products. You can mix the Bifen with water in a pump or backpack yard sprayer. I use Bifen XTS to spray the shrubs and trees in my wooded backyard to kill mosquitoes a few times a summer, but also for other insects.

I think Bifenthren is one of the two main active ingredients in this. I was at the store recently and one that I purchased only had Bifenthren. I bought another brand for ~$12 a gallon, wondering if anyone else has input/experience on the other brands. Seems that the active ingredients are fairly similar.

Ortho HomeDefense is Bifenthrin. Works pretty well at my apartment versus the pest management company that our management sends out

Basically the same thing you use. It's probably cheaper to buy this for the electronic sprayer and refill with the concentrate.

not a bad price , I can swear in prior years it was hovering around $14.99 but hey we supposedly have inflation.

This stuff genuinely sucks. I tried it multiple times and it made very little difference. I've since switched to a pesticide called Bifenthren and it works absolutely amazing.

I've been using this for 5+ years. It claims 6 months of protection, so I spray outside quarterly. It hasn't been perfect, but I seem to have the same results as my neighbors and they all use a local pest service (which, ironically, I referenced them to so I got a few kickbacks 😆)

The electronic sprayer isn't great, though. I've been trying to find a backpack or pump that will disperse more fluid at once. The included one shoots the product out in a very thin line. I know it's a bad analogy, but imagine lightly urinating on the side of your house — that's about the velocity and volume this thing puts out. I'd like something that covers more area.

Anyways, that's OP. Free shipping included and I *just* ran out of this two weeks ago. Perfect timing 👍🏼

The reason these are cheap is not always the active ingredient but the strength. Black flag, for example, is 1/10th as strong as the professional version. Haven't looked into this product but you do need to consider the strength when comparing.

Also for people seeing the 6month claim - even the full professional strength Bifenthrin products won't claim more than 3. I've seen weak, mass market products even claim 18 months. It's complete BS.

Costco had a 2-pack (2X 1 gal) for just couple dollars or so more in the warehouses a month or so ago...my local Costco here in NorCal has still few left on the crates (YMMV)..

Been using this for a few years and I spray bi monthly and it really keeps ants and most critters out. Sporadically I'll find some dead ones. This is way better than professional service

I find this stuff to be pretty effective, I spray around my windows and that's kept spiders out for a while now.

The one downside is the automatic sprayer has died or malfunctioned on every one of these I've purchased. I have a spray bottle I use for the leftovers that I will inevitably have.

I like the HDX brand pump sprayer from Home Depot. It's nothing special but it's also inexpensive.

Maybe your results vary on the type of ants or bugs you are trying to get rid of. For me I spray this about once or twice a year in addition to the pellets around the outside perimeter (fences/sidewalk) and it keeps the small black ants at bay. I see soo many at some of my neighbor's homes when I walk past. Most are elderly homes that don't have the time/health to do this themselves.

You can adjust the spray. rotating the spray head will widen the coverage area rather than the default setting of single stream
