How is Google FI for iPhone families (iphones and cellular iwatches). I know it would likely work best with Google or Samsung android phones, but is the iPhone experience that much worse?
With iPhone (and I think other BYOPhones) you only get T-Mobile service. You also have to configure your MMS settings with iPhone. And each time a software update is done. This takes 2 minutes. Not too bad imo.

I went to public schools, so I don't math so good. But 3 lines are $5 cheaper than 2. 4 lines same price as 2
It's because they are trying to get folks to switch off flex plans that primarily use wifi and not mobile data. I would switch but the loss of data and cell while traveling defeats the purpose of google fi.

Google fi is good if you travel internationally frequently to Europe or Asia, if you are US only...use rocket 5gb for $200 on ebay per year and save a ton of money while on same network

Yah but, they are the only MVNO offering US cellular service. This has been the main reason to use Fi. If you don't need US cellular service, Fi has never really been competitive.
That's way incorrect and actually opposite.... Fi is great if you are traveling to EU or apac on some frequency. If you just sit in the US there are plenty of cheaper alternatives.

No Sim swap, works literally as you land on runway in pretty much all major countries. This is the main reason I switched to fi. When in the US every restaurant, store, coffee shop, bar has wifi now....who uses mobile data lol

I just left Google Fi for Visible and Tello if anyone needs advice. I liked Google Fi but the price still isn't competitive for my family.
Well, I think Google Fi is targeting folks who travel internationally. In the latter case, it's very worthwhile. You can pause service whenever you want and only pay for what you need.

Also no 5G service for any iPhones.

Just FYI, simple plan vs flex, you lose international data and calling when traveling switching to simple plan

International data comes out of your regular plan...so if you are unlimited, its full 5G at unlimited (50G max before restriction)...I am in AU right now, and my FI phone just works. I have been in many countries in this trip, and FI as just worked everywhere, whereas my TMobile line needed added plans to get high speed international, and its expensive. FI wins by far on this one. I am using my FI phone as my music streamer in the car, and my GPS phone, and burning through data but not worrying about it. Its great.
Agreed, I used google fi SIM cards to travel in Canada and it was amazing. Full unlimited speeds within your data limits and no foreign SIM card hassles. Google fi is an excellent choice for travelers.

How's the international data? Do you get free 2g like T-Mobile or no cap speed within limits amount?
I ha e been on flex plan for 3 or 4 years. EU and apac were lte/4g in most major countries. Smaller towns was spotty ..but same can be said for parts of US

Great price if you have 3+ people. Still hard to beat the $15/month TMobile prepaid 2+GB/mo plan if you don't use a ton of network data.
