Don't get the flip, fancy phone, horrible battery life. Fanciness wears off, but day to day battery usage is what matters at the end. Need to charge at least 3 times a day with regular usage

I wish I hadn't bought into the iPhone hype. Lesson learnt. Now I have to wait a year and switch back. Apart from the battery if anyone is considering switching I would recommend you use one for a week.

When you join Google Fi, do they tell you the exact date (90-120 days) when you can safely leave and not risk losing the discount? Or does customer has to figure out when it's safe to do so?

If my phone arrives one day after my current provider charges for the next month, is there any way to avoid that?

I don't understand the Google Fi plans... when I look at the plans, I see that there is one for $20/month with 35gb data till it slows down. When I try to go through with this deal (or any phone offered through Google Fi), this option shows up as $50/month. I would join Fi for $20/month plan, but certainly not $50/month.
I see other posts here saying it would be $20/month for the 120 days. How do I choose this plan or get it to show up as an option for me?!
I think $20 a month is with voice only. $10 per gig and a maximum of $60 / 6 gig up charge. Some people were saying buy the lowest package, activate service & take SIM card out of phone and use phone somewhere else. But DONT put Fi SIM card in another phone for 4 months. The mid tier doesn't have the international roaming features but they recently increased the cap from 25 gigs to 32. And dropped the price $10. The high tier had a $5 price drop and a cap of ~60 gb but has all the international features and comes with 100 gigs of google's cloud storage.

I am opting for S22 Ultra. Any reason not to? S-pen and previous Note experience was the big motivation.

You used to be able to initiate the port on your account settings on the website BEFORE you order arrives. You give them the phone number you want to port during checkout, but you don't give them the PIN yet. They say to use the Google Fi app to start the port process, but you could do it on the website instead. So, for example, if you only have 3 days to port out and it takes Google 5 days to ship your phone, just start the porting process on the website instead of using the Google Fi app. You'll have to wait for your SIM and phone to arrive, but at least you won't be paying an extra month of service with a different carrier while you're waiting for your order to arrive.

The other way is that you do have 30 days to activate your service with Google Fi once they ship your order, so you can just stick with your current carrier for a few more weeks before you initiate the port process.

Wow, seriously? That is crazy, it almost sounds like you have a problem with yours, I can't believe they'd let a phone like that come to market. Do you check what is using the majority of your battery?
It's not just his phone. The flip is a phone with horrible battery life. I do love the small form factor. I've had the Note series for years (8,9, and 20) and was getting tired of carrying such a large phone so the flip is a nice change.

I read stories about FI shipments being delayed for the previous deals. Hope they ship it on time. It's been almost 2 days and the order is still in the initial stages Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

In your account, there should be a Promo tab that shows you a countdown to when the promo is fulfilled. It takes a few days to kick in and turn on, so check on it a week after you activate.

You also receive a refund if you go into a new month past the 120 days and cancel late, so you can go 125 days in just to be safe. You'll see the website Promo page update and congratulate you on fulfilling your contract, at which point you know you're definitely safe to cancel.

You are looking at the default landing page for the plans, which shows you the cost PER LINE if you sign up for MULTIPLE lines. The default estimate is for 4 people, where it breaks down to $20/month PER PERSON for 35GB data.

You need to use the slider and move it down to show you the cost for 1 person if you are the only one signing up.

The cheapest plan is actually $20/month for one person, but it's the "Flex" plan and only gives you talk/text. If you want to use data, they charge you $10 extra for each GB up to 6 GB, at which point they stop charging you. So if you turn mobile data off and just use WiFi, then it's $20 only. Or if you yank the SIM out and never use it, it's $20/month only.

Yeah got the iPhone 13 Pro, and it's a good phone but imo no better than most the android phones I've had in the past.

I wouldn't have switched had Google not screwed up Android 12 (to me the interface looks extremely ugly and is a step back from Android 11).

I'm trying to decide here. How good is Google Fi vs AT&T prepaid? My Mint Mobile 12-Month 10GB/month $240 plan ends on 4/28/22. I don't think there's anything to worry about as far as Early Termination Fees porting-out from Mint, given everything was paid off on 4/28/21 I suppose. Google Fi doesn't seem that great to single line users who use less than 5 gigabytes of data per month though. The $20/month Flexible Pay As You Go plan is more like $40-$50/month if you use 2gb/3gb of data correct?

To those who are Google Fi veterans, are there any single line deals similar to the Mint Mobile 12-Month 10GB/month $240 / AT&T 12-Month 8GB/month $300 plans? The $300 dollar New Customer port-in credit would lose its value when paying $10 per every gigabyte of data used compared to Mint or AT&T.

If I wanted the S22 Ultra 512gb model (and I have a tradeable $500 dollar Samsung device) I might as well do the Samsung trade-in deal for $899, and then just get the AT&T 12-Month 8GB/month $300 plan as to not have to be on Google Fi for 4 months right?

Is this only for 1 phone/account? Does anyone know how long is this promo running? I want to wait until 4/12 for Costco promo but not sure if that's a good idea
