Decided to pull the trigger on the white 128 GB S22. Will probably port my Google Voice number over. Was gonna trade in my old Pixel 4 but I'll probably just give it to my sister.

LOL, I'm on the same boat. I read that you can just activated the phone with the google FI SIM and then put the FI SIM away and never put that SIM to any other phone for 120 days to satisfy the condition.

A second method is activating the phone, mine is the S22 Ultra so it has eSim, with Google Fi using the eSIM feature; Then put your say Verizon sim on the physical slot and use it for 120 days.....
I really dont want to lose that $500.00 discountFrown. The first method seems risky... But I was wondering about the second one. Do we need to contact Fi to switch it to eSIM?

I also want to know this. Sounds safer than activating and then removing the physical SIM card.

I activated the eSim through my current cell provider just now. I plan to activate the physical sim which came with the phone with google Fi in a week or so. I am still waiting for the number I plan to port to complete its monthly billing cycle. I took the physical sim out of the phone while activating its eSim. The phone tends to activate with the physical sim when it first powered up since there is no Wifi connection yet.

google Fi still does not support eSim yet so I have to do this method. And I am planning to use the phone instead of flipping it so this method legit and google Fi does not say anything about having the eSim activated.

I just received S22 that I ordered over the weekend... There is a phone in the box (The galaxy box is sealed.. I haven't opened it yet.. but I doubt the Fi sim card is there), there is no physical google Fi Sim card? Is there supposed to be one included in the shipping box?

My carrier has not supported eSim yet. So I will need to wait for 120 days then...

Not sure about the rooting part, but SM-S901U is definitely dual sim. I'm using one right now with a physical sim and an esim.
