Don't get the flip, fancy phone, horrible battery life. Fanciness wears off, but day to day battery usage is what matters at the end. Need to charge at least 3 times a day with regular usage

I wish I hadn't bought into the iPhone hype. Lesson learnt. Now I have to wait a year and switch back. Apart from the battery if anyone is considering switching I would recommend you use one for a week.

Not sure about the rooting part, but SM-S901U is definitely dual sim. I'm using one right now with a physical sim and an esim.
I believe your Physical Sim is Google Fi Sim? Is there a way to turn off data for Google Fi Sim, while keeping the eSIM (with another carrier) fully active with data? Thanks.

I bought my s22 directly from Samsung, not Fi. SM-S901U denotes a carrier-locked variant. U1 denotes the factory unlocked variant. I bought my s22 directly from Samsung locked to T-Mobile to save an extra $50. I then requested from T-Mobile to permanently unlock it the very next day, which they did. So I now have a permanently unlocked SM-S901U.

There are two IMEI numbers listed for the phone. One is for the eSIM. I have a physical T-Mobile sim installed using one of my T-Mobile lines. I use a completely different T-Mobile line (same account, different line) on the eSIM. And yes, I turned off data to one line, and kept the other fully active with data. But again, this is on T-Mobile, not Fi.

Also, from my past experience with Fi, they have always shipped to me factory unlocked phones. I suspect everyone ordering the s22 from Fi will receive the U1 factory unlocked variant.

What happens once you cancel after 120 days? Pay the balance in one go?

Thanks! Yes, I think the one I got from Google Fi is unlocked. But we need to keep the Fi service for 120 days in order to receive that $500 discount:p.

Last time when I got my S20 in a similar promotion, but with 90- instead of 120-day requirement, Google even refunded me $0.85 after I hit the 90 day milestone and cancel the FI serviceSmilie).

I bought a number off of numberbarn and initiated transfer. I do not see that number listed in my numberbarn account and I'm able to make/receive calls on phone. I did accrue 1.5MB data trying to activate this number.
However, when I go to FI Savings, I still see Steps 3 (New Fi member activates device within 28 days) & Step 4 (Transfer a number to Fi) incomplete. How long does it take for this to change? I would like to remove the SIM card and start using on a different network.

What I was trying to ask was if I bought the Samsung device under an installment plan, what happens if I don't pay for Google FI airtime service after the required 120 days ?

Am I required to pay the remainder of the balance of the device in one go or not? thanks

Ordered S22 Ultra 256GB on Sunday. Package arrived today with an empty box (Sealed) with no phone inside. Searched on Reddit and I am not the first one had this experience. I will never buy anything ever again from Google store. Cannot believe FI use a scam marketplace for its supply. What a joke.

My carrier has not supported eSim yet. So I will need to wait for 120 days then...
Which cell phone provider is that if you don't mind sharing?

Because once you transfer 5 people in the family is a nightmare to get everyone in the room city and go switch careers and get everyone back up and running. This is key because many times families are not physically in the same City.

So they give you discount because once you switch you are likely not to switch away soon.
This was my issue too. Now I just use CircledIn and not have to worry about the hassle of managing a family plan and still get the Family discounts as well as being part of a major carrier and not just an MVNO.

When you sign up, you select what you want to do. If you choose the option to port the number then Google charges $500 less for the phone. The nice part is tax applied after the discount. Ex: for the ultra 256gb, my price was $862; tax on the $800 only.

I chose the port and such, and placed the order just now for a 256 S22U. The confirmation email I just received says the following which confuses me.

Financing: You're paying over time for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (256GB, Phantom White) (1). You'll have 24 monthly payments of $54.17.

I choose the same spec and model. It says on my confirmation email.

$54 for 24 months? Im assuming this is the figure for the phone ( 1300 ) as it stands before meeting promo criteria?

PS Sorry for the double post.
