Depending on your library you won't have to pay a penny for almost any book.
Best part libby can push your borrowed books directly to your kindle.
The focus of the kindle is to read books. If you're trying to do other stuff like play games, browse the internet, or stream something, then yeah, just use an iPad. But if you want to read digital books in an experience as close to a physical book as possible, then a kindle is for you. It's small, lightweight, and can carry hundreds, if not thousands, of books in one device.

110% AGREE! Best advice out there if you're an avid reader.
Kindle Kids is also available for $64.99 + Save $20 with promo code "2PACK".
Differences include cover / 2 year warranty / no ads.
This is the better deal IMHO. That extra $10 gets you a LOT of bang for the buck. It also includes Amazon Kids+ for a year. If you're an adult, it's easy enough to remove the kid features. Just Google it.
