Thanks! It appears to have worked to kept that repetitive stupidity to a bare min.
Thanks one more time. Clearly we didn't have to suffer that infernal whining for the 3856th time in this thread. We are evolving.
Can you get a Priority Pass with this card? I am thinking this Vs Capital Venture x card
You can but the Amex plat provided Priority Pass doesn't give you access to the Priority Pass Restaurants which give you $28 (plus additional $28 if you have a guest) whereas Capital Venture X does.
I got my 150k but no idea what to do with these points. I MUCH prefer Chase points. Much better partners.
While I agree chase points are move valuable overall these aren't especially hard to use for good value...
As an example I used 88k per person transferred to ANA to book roundtrip biz class to Portugal... that's a $3000-4000 ticket depending when you book it for cash, so 3.5-4.5 cents a point in value.
We also used 144k per person to Singapore Air for roundtrip biz to Frankfurt, which is typically a 4-5k ticket so 2.7 cpp on the low end, not quite as good as the above deal but nicer biz class offering.
You can also get some value (especially when they run 20-40% transfer bonuses) to Avios and then booking non-BA metal like US short haul (esp useful for positioning flights for those high value overseas biz redemptions if you're not near a big hub).. or Aer Lingus or Iberian to non-London destinations.
Various other sweet spots out there too, TPG and others should have articles on it
My one year anniversary is coming up. Don't wanna pay $695. Is there any card to downgrade to keep the points? Or any good partners to transfer points to?

Platinum can only be downgraded to Green or Gold which will still have annual fee -- you can apply for Green (45k bonus) or Gold (90k bonus) separately if you haven't yet
As long as you have one MR card open then your MR pts balance will remain (its pooled to a single MR account under your name/SSN) -- you can also apply for Amex Everyday or Blue Business Plus card (no annual fee on either)
I got the Amex Everyday a while back just to bank MR pts -- have canceled Green/Gold/Plat/Schwab Plat in the past

Thanks. I don't have any other Amex card so will look into Everyday one and see.

Don't confuse "Amex Everyday" (MR pts) with "Amex Blue Cash Everyday" (cash back card)
