I will echo what Baltimore695 said. This is good for cutting 2x4s and such which is actually what I got it for. I have a 12" slider that I use for anything bigger but at 60 lbs its a bit heavy to bring up stairs for a quick cut. If you had to cut a 2x6 or 6" trim work then you would have to step up to the sliding version or one with a bigger blade.
Edit: the link I posted is for a wired version, which unless you're specifically looking for cordless, is a better deal IMO.

I can confirm it's great for 2x4 cutting. For 2x6s you gotta flip the piece to finish the work.
I have a 10" slider as well. But if I only had one, the 10" slider would be the keeper.
IMHO, the niche here is the need to cut 2x4s where electricity isn't easily available. (Remote work location).

For laminate flooring, 2x4s, 2x6s, etc., I use a circular saw as those cuts rarely need to be mitered or super accurate.
