Can't possible recommend this more. Helped me teach my son and daughter. Starts out as a card/chess game but once you learn the basic moves you just play regular chess. Great gift for anyone who wants to learn to play, young or old. Probably have gotten 150 plus hours from

That's the point, It's designed to teach and give both players the same chance of winning through RNG. If you don't like that, then you can flip the board and play normal chess on it.

My son really likes this game. It is a good way to teach the moves. It was fun to see him play with older people and having fun. Yes it is all luck.
