FYI for those who missed this, it seems to drop into the 160-something range at times.

For a >1000MB/s external 2tb, that's around the lowest price that I've seen. Even buying one of those "refurb" 2tb samsung drives and a usb c 3.1 external case is going to run $160.

I set a price watch for $167 to see if I can catch it again. Unless you're going to go with a $150 thunderbolt enclosure with an nvme drive in it, you aren't going to get anything faster.
