Can only be used to store games on these systems. They have to be moved to the main system drives to play them.

The m.2 can be shucked for ps5 or pc use, but its quite a process. Might be more worthwhile using it as a external ssd, or tesla sentry. I own the 1tb version it's fast enough for quick storage.

I bought 5 of P10 versions of these for $40 each from Walmart about 3 years ago. Been using one on my XBOX Series X for 3 years, and never once had an issue playing Xbox One games from it. Used another as a backup drive on my MacBook, and also just started using an unopened one on our new PS5, and having no issues there playing PS4 games from it directly. I get that the D30 may be a bit faster, but $139 for each one doesn't seem like a deal when the P10 will do the same thing for a fraction of the price.

Not a good choice for PS5 . For $30 more , you can get samsung 980 pro 2 Tb. NVMe . Not difficult to install and can play games from it . You can not play PS5 games from an external SSD.

6x faster is not a bit, even 60% faster is more than a bit. But good for you being happy with your old drives. Also on the xb1 games, load times are longer, and x/s games take much longer to transfer for those juggling multiple titles that need to play of the main drive, for people that dont want to dump money on the proprietary cards.

As far as storage for the PS5, as the other poster above mentioned its a no brainer, for that system install an nvme drive in the expansion drive, I got a 4tb nvme in mine for less than this (127 via amazon months ago.)
