I have these, get the Pistol, it is the best of the bunch, this one needs to be modified to be good by using a LiPo.

Also for this series, get a Black/UV light flashlight, all the balls are reactive, so you can find them easier. and they are small enough that a dog could choke on them if not careful.

Heads up for anyone buying for younger kids — the Hyper series is sort of the "expert level Nerf" and is almost like entry-level Airsoft. My 11yo just got his first Rival series gun (one level down) and it's almost too intense to be used without face protection. Great fun, eye protection highly recommended.

Happy Easter, kids, now go find all the Rival balls in the yard!

If the prices are similar I will always buy from Target instead of Amazon.
Picking up my orders from the store is usually faster and Target keeps jobs in my community and they treat workers better.

Heads up for anyone buying for younger kids — the Hyper series is sort of the "expert level Nerf" and is almost like entry-level Airsoft. My 11yo just got his first Rival series gun (one level down) and it's almost too intense to be used without face protection. Great fun, eye protection highly recommended.

I have these, get the Pistol, it is the best of the bunch, this one needs to be modified to be good by using a LiPo.

Also for this series, get a Black/UV light flashlight, all the balls are reactive, so you can find them easier. and they are small enough that a dog could choke on them if not careful.

FYI..Was about to get this but after reading some of the reviews, someone mention that the round ammo is different from the regular round ammo you would use for the Rival series guns. The ammo for this gun has a gel type consistency compared to the foam ammo for the round Rival guns..Not ready to spend $$ on having 2 different sets of ammo since I already have so much invested in the current round foam ammo...

Whew, you ain't kidding... I would never use the rival lineup without eye pro... I'd call it operationally necessary.

These use six D batteries and are not included. That is a deal killer for me.

D batteries? Who uses batteries in these? Why not put a lithium battery in it? Nerf is being cheap!

I had a few older guns that also took D batteries, so what I did was get rechargeable AA's and some D battery adapters, and that worked pretty well. Just a lot of batteries to recharge when it dies.

Got this for my son. It broke pretty quick. The squish balls can get sucked under the belt mechanism. Rival guns are better.
