Free Electrify America DC fast charging on earth day. If they're working and not too busy. Good way to save a couple bucks.

Just my opinion but if we want to do something we should reduce our overall resource consumption instead of consuming more "green" resources.
Sadly, Teslas can't currently use Electrify America stations (yet). Not until they release the CCS adapter in North America.
Ha yeah I've seen you at the airport EV parking spots 😉
As for the pollution, there is no reason China and any developing country will or can do anything. The west establish the capital and tech advantage 100 years ago, and can use any advanced tech to reduce and protect the environment. Not the case for developing countries. They have left behind tech, and the only way they can still compete with western companies is count no cost to pollution. If you want China and India, including others say no to pollution, pay them to do so. Or just shut up and enjoy your everyday life with cheap made in China and mind your own business.
Well said. Those other morons are just media puppet!

3rd EV, 2nd Tesla - once you drive electric cars and then ...drive any dino fuel car... you feel like the flintstones. They are better at everything. Environmental issues aside.
That said, the other DC charging networks suck ass. Had many problems charging a VW on electrify America (a VW owned company). The superiority of the supercharger network can't be understated. That said, we use it a coupe times a year - the rest is at home charging (+solar roof) - very nice time to have no electric bill, no gasoline bill, natural gas heating bill cut in half. Solar panel cost justification is accelerating huge with the elevated energy prices...
So bear some stuff in mind if you're going after this deal:
- EA spots are known to be pretty flakey, with many chargers requiring a phone call to get up and running. TFLCar has shown this in some of its vlogs.
-if the charging is *free*, many will probably try to charge to 100%...which is very very slow compared to just charging to 80%. You may not find it worth it to wait.
- DCFC is always going to cause more heat generation from your battery than AC charging (despite the battery being DC). If you don't have active cooling (ie: Nissan Leaf), you may see even SLOWER charging time if you've been driving for a while.
Other than that, this is a good opportunity to MAYBE save a few bucks if you're driving out of a metro area to visit friends...who live outside of a popular Metro area themselves, lol.

Our family has been all electric for some time, but not for environmental reasons. It's just a much nicer driving and ownership experience, provided you have a parking place where you can plug in to charge at home. It's just so nice to not worry about having to go a gas station all the time, or deal with oil changes etc. And the driving itself is much more lively and fun, especially at low speeds where you get so much torque at the first push of the pedal. They're just better at being cars. The fact that they produce fewer greenhouse gasses over their lifetime is just a nice bonus.
All that said, if you don't have a place to plug in overnight at home, gas is still probably the better way to go. Home charging is what makes EVs so convenient currently

Nope. Haven't waited on my car to "fill up" in 2 years, the same as any EV owner driving less than 250 miles per day. We don't wait a single minute.
A douche bag gonna do douche bag things 🙃

I wasn't talking about "waited". I was talking about the speed it take to refill so the car can do another 300 miles. We are talking about "speed" it take to refill, not "hurry up and wait."
