Free Electrify America DC fast charging on earth day. If they're working and not too busy. Good way to save a couple bucks.

EA is basically Volkswagen's "penalty" for the whole diesel-gate scandal from a few years back. They were ordered to spend something like $2 billion on EV charging infrastructure.
I just run an extension cord from my neighbor's house. 👍🏻
Gonna be real on this. I'd rather just pay the few dollars to charge normally elsewhere instead of waiting an hour or more in line. I hope people value their time more than a few dollars.

There have been plenty of studies around this. If you spent a little time educating yourself you've find it. The CO2 emissions from start to end to build a EV (including the mining) produces significantly more than an ICE. It's not until about year 7 that an ICE vehicle surpasses CO2 emissions. From there, EVs are more beneficial. However, the studies have not factored in disposal of batteries so a case can be made that's there's no benefit. Case in point that others have made, EVs are not a solution. They're a fine alternative for people but please do not consider yourself saving the environment.
FWIW, I have driven over 60K miles in a 2012 EV and only have 6% battery degradation. If it ever reaches below 80% (and Los Angeles is not completely underwater at that point) there are shops that will refurbish the pack using recycled cells for much less than buying a used car.

There's a huge market for pulling packs from salvage EVs for retrofitting and refurbishing purposes. Used EV battery packs hold value and utility and aren't just tossed in landfills.

last time i had an ev, it died in the middle of arkansas, even though it was showing 32 miles range left which was enough to get to the charging station in little rock. Never buying an ev again. Stick go gas vehicles.

They still charge by time in Texas. Brutal costs. Volta ones are cool and worth checking if you have any in your area. They are putting them at malls and movie theaters. They are free from what I have seen and use ads at the "pump". Hoping they spread and do well.
Nothing is free, taxpayers are paying, like me!

This is not future we are going backwards! Fossil generated electricity, electricity charging the battery! Did anyone get this.
For the same travel distance, EVs still "burn" way less fossil than gas cars. AKA, much higher MPGe.

What the heck is "forced"? You really trust your shit media. I lived in China for 20 years and it is just a normal country except you can't vote. Politics there sucks but forced work? They are not idiots. Underpaid yes. It's a country with $10k GDP per capita and you never expect they have the same salary as we here in the US. You have to be thankful for their low salary otherwise you can not afford your life. Oh not to mention that Chinese workers are not lazy as you guys, maybe you can call them "work stupidly hard for tyrant" but your entire life, or every single person's life in the world are getting better because they Chinese are willing to work and produce better product with much less price. There is a reason why made in China killed any industries all over the world. You have no idea how hard working and smart they are, and uneven with the heavy burden of a really suck politic, they are beating us here.
As for the pollution, there is no reason China and any developing country will or can do anything. The west establish the capital and tech advantage 100 years ago, and can use any advanced tech to reduce and protect the environment. Not the case for developing countries. They have left behind tech, and the only way they can still compete with western companies is count no cost to pollution. If you want China and India, including others say no to pollution, pay them to do so. Or just shut up and enjoy your everyday life with cheap made in China and mind your own business.
Hey being a Chinese-American born in China living here all my life. It may be true that China still has heavy pollution in many large cities at least the Chinese government is making strong effort and support EV adoption. China now is the heavies support and growth of EV sells in the world. Beating even here in US and west coast like here in California EV sells most from Tesla.

Too bad due to politic and government lobbyist (legal corruption) the latest Federal credit for EV was shot down. I for one tried my best to reduce my own family footprint getting an EV car and home solar system. There are many misinformed information so do your research and don't trust one media source.

End my two cents thoughts...

Any slick deals on a new tesla so I can take advantage of this today?
No deal... it better you get their stock and wait 5 to 10 yrs. Use that growth to get one if you can't afford one now. It keeps on going up only ... I think my two reservation for the Cybertruck will be over their claim of 40K... There is no way they can sell it for that price as the dollar inflation is so high.

The 4 wheel drive CT would be crazy but price for it will be over 90K.... : (

No thanks.

This is what sets Tesla really apart from other EVs.

Consistently fast and reliable and easily accessible Tesla charging network.

You wont really appreciate it until you have owned both a Tesla and a non Tesla EV and experienced a Tesla vs non Tesla charging.

Tesla is about to add CCS to all Supercharger stations, so most EVs can charge there. Announced publicly. Enjoy watching them fill up.

Used the free charging session this morning. Great experience.
Electrify America is the only charging network that I find usable. Their charging stations keep growing.

How would this work in Texas? Their power grid (as independent as it might be) has trouble with rain or snow 😅🤣😂

One time I had a gas car it broke down and needed the engine rebuilt. Never buying one again. I make all my choices based on one experience and lump them all together. Stick to EVs.
