Absolutely and this is a overpriced ad quality build device. There are numerous devices from HP (HP 14 and 15, not Pavilion) and Lenovo IdeaPad 3, with Exactly same or slightly higher price ($30 to $50 at max) with Ryzen 5 5500u and that offers far superior cpu performance and GPU performance. Don't get fooled by Vega 10 in 3700u vs Vega 7 on 5500u. That Vega 7 is significantly faster than this because it runs at far higher clockspeed and much efficient due to 7nm node vs 12nm on this.

They're around in the same way that RCA, Westinghouse, Motorola and Polaroid are still around, in the sense that whoever wants can essentially rent the name rights and sell products using the name. In many cases you can get the rights for just one category of products, so one company might sell Gateway branded headphones, and another might sell gateway branded cell phones.

You know, you need to consider the generations as well. It has 3700u whereas Ryzen 5 5500u is two generation newer.

Someone else already mentioned the 5500 is two generations newer. That also includes that it has two more cores than the older one

If you do what I did it would mean going through black Friday missing out on great laptops because some tech geniuses kept saying they were no good. All I needed was something to replace my 10 year old laptops and the negative comments were enough to keep me from hitting buy
