Does Smith & Wesson actually make good knives, or is this like... Harley-Davidson quality level?

Poop knife. Anything that just says "stainless steel" is a gas station knife.

I have a S&W pocket knife I keep on me. I would consider it low quality. I just use it to open boxes at work.

It depends on what you're looking for.

For this one... It's a $15 knife, it's going to be a great box opener, but nothing you're going to leave to your kids. In my experience with their knives as a whole though, they tend to trend better than you'd expect for the price you pay.

It's a cheap steel but you could do worse.

True, my gas station knife comment may have been a little harsh. There are definitely worse poop knives.

I don't usually comment on these type knives. I gotta admit though, even if it's more or less a 'poop' knife, I kinda like the style of it.

Thumbs up Op.

Same steel as the Spyderco Tenacious, which has sold in the millions I would guess.

For $15, you can get 440c which is a better steel than 8Cr13MoV such as ganzo.

I am still buying Buck knives, but do have a few SW hunting knives from a few decades ago when they were quality.

Meanwhile, this deal seems to be dead and now $21. There are a couple 'like new' for $14.04.

I bought one for only one main reason. the steel is easy to sharpen and the entire edge is straight. I want to learn how to sharpen knives and this thing looks like a confidence builder in that respect.

I like it's appearance in that it doesn't look 'tactical' so if there's ever trouble it looks more innocuous like its actual purpose. Aesthetically I'd prefer tactical. I live in a state where aestetics are substance. Frown
