I bought the 100" L5F from Buydig last year. It has been an interesting purchase. My primary TV is a 77" OLED so keep that in mind.

-The screen came damaged. Unrolling the screen is one of the last parts of the installation process, so I didn't realize it until late. Unfortunately I had to wrap it all back up and send it back, but after some back and forth emails and phone calls I did get a new screen. The new package was almost damaged the same way (shipping of these things seems brutal). INSPECT THE SCREEN WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT!

-Installation sucks. Like it really does. There's an app that's supposed to help calibrate everything, but it failed every time I used it on android and iOS devices. If the screen is on a white wall, like mine, any light bleed will be extremely noticeable. Fine adjustments are HARD. Free installation on this deal is clutch.

-I am particular about the height of the screen (I don't want it to be too high / neck strain). So I wanted the projector lower. I didn't have any stand at home that was that low, and buying one didn't seem a great option for me. I actually ended up building one since the projector needs to be off the wall an awkward amount, so I built kind of a cantilever-type thing that's relatively low to the ground. I assume most people wouldn't do this.

-The colors are nowhere near what you'll get with even a bad TV. I have the thing set to vivid. The picture is often blocky/pixelated when it would be crystal clear on an OLED. Colors are absolutely washed out with not very much contrast. I'm one to notice these things. The wife doesn't.

With all that being said, the extra size of the screen is still awesome and we use it as much or more than the OLED. But as soon as those 98"-100" TVs come down to ~$5K, I'm buying one of those instead because I'm certain it will be miles better in terms of picture and setup.

wonder how close can i get this to the projector to achieve the 100" or 120" viewing. Would be great if i can put this on my entertainment stand and project right on the projector. this way i don't have to deal with mounting anything.

I got an open box Hisense 120 inch L5F, that was used for 13 hours. Got it for $1700 with 4 years of CPS warranty. The screen box was unopened and was brand new. It was a no brainer for the price I got it. I am in love with the picture quality. The L5G has minor improvements like HDMI 2.1 and eARC capability compared to L5F. I would definitely recommend getting a Hisense UST. You won't regret.

What are the major differences between l5 and l9 short throw projectors? After 25l hours do you replace the laser or just buy a whole new unit? Obsolete then?

If you use the projector 8 hours a day. 25k hours equals 8.5 years of life. I don't know if I'd be even alive by then. šŸ˜‚
