Was in the market for 85" TV but ordered 100" model in November when it was on sale at Costco, thinking I could easily return it if I don't like it. No prior experience with projectors whatsoever and was concerned that 100" might be too big for midsized room this was going in with around 12' to 14' distance between couch and the wall.

They shipped me 120" model by mistake, and I wasn't even sure that I wanted to assemble it, thinking there is no way this will work for me. But assembled the screen and hang it up nevertheless, being beyond skeptical at that point. Wife thought I was nuts. Put on March of the Penguins to test it out and wow... everyone became an instant believer! Yes it is big, but perhaps it's the lack of a light source beaming at you compared to an LED that just makes it so pleasing to look at.

We have LG C2 OLED in the living room, but we choose to watch on this projector 10 out of 10 times, because size matters a lot. Screen quantity has a quality of its own. Built in speaker in this thing surprisingly aint bad either, but you obviously want to hook it up to a proper sound system.

Other thoughts from my experience:
adjusting picture to perfectly fit the screen was a pain, once I finally dialed it in I am not letting anyone come within touching distance of this thing!
we have a fairly dark room, but it is not perfectly blacked out. works great, zero complaints. I wouldn't hang it up in a living room though, not just due to light issues, but because 99.37% of the time this thing is not going to be in use and the giant empty screen taking up the entire wall will just look weird and not as aesthetically pleasing as a switched off TV.
Hisense is most definitely not an offbrand
Since when is Hisense an, "off-brand"? They are a massive, Chinese state owned company that dip their toes into many product offerings. The brand has been around for decades.

These are some great deals on what are (VERY arguably ) a major future form factor of home entertainment devices. The continued progression of UST projectors tech over the last few years has been amazing to keep up with and has tapped into an entirely new market of customers who wanted the bigger picture without the intimidating or limiting factors that come from a long throw projector. Home Theater purists recognize that UST projectors aren't quite there yet when it comes to matching the best of the best long throw projector image quality. However, when you can get a UST bundle for $2K-$3K that gives you this good of an image with ambient light in the room, it is hard to deny that they have solidified their place in home theater as well as casual home use.

Rapped. Best price on the L9G I've seen.

Edit:

Anyone has experience pairing two Amazon Echos (not the dots) as home theater sound system for this?

I have two 2021 version used as a surrounding system currently with my tv. When they works, they are fine. But some pitfall is the tv's own speaker will not play together, which seems a bit waste and can not imitate a 2.1 system. Thought maybe it's because the tv is old. Wondering if this UST can pair with two echos and form a 2.1-like system.

Probably clearance. Hisense have come up with way better products this year. Unveiled in CES.

What's the benefit of going with the higher gain screen? I'm anticipating using it in a mildly lit room but with the ability to black out.

How does this compare to the Formovie theater? I've only been looking at that. But this coming with the screen is tempting. How does the projector by itself compare though?

Wow. I haven't found a 120" ALR screen for less than $1000 anywhere. That plus a UST laser projector for $2500 is a pretty darn good deal.

Unfortunately for me, it's not a good gaming projector due to high input lag, but still TU all the way.

Check out the Epson LS800, it's not cheap but has "low" input lag (22 ms). I'm on the fence but I'm going to wait till the BenQ 4550i comes out later this year.
