Free In store pickup, 2-day shipping & waived smartphone activation fee when you buy online. Limited time offer.
What's special about this offer is that it does not require the upgrade to involve modifying the existing unlimited plan. This serves me well, because I am still on one of those grandfathered unlimited plan and I have to avoid the typical upgrade offers that require me to switch to a newer unlimited plans.

i dont have a hotspot option on my original 700 nationwide talk plan, BUT a few yrs ago i purchased an unlocked samsung Galaxy S8 and realized i can hotspot my data to anyone! i upgrade/tradein every 2 years. S8, S10, Note 20, now I have a S22 Ultra now, but can't access the "ultra wideband 5G" just regular 5G.
is uwb 5G access enough to update to the new "unlimited" plans?
Is there something I'm missing in regards as to why I shouldn't switch?

Why are you still rocking the OG plan? Is there a reason I shouldn't switch up plans?

I gave up gUDP a long time ago once Verizon locked that plan out of device upgrade promotions (and later added an additional fee to add device installment).
If you want/need unlimited hotspot/tethering (hundreds of gigs to TBs of data) gUDP still has it's place. Otherwise for just smartphone unlimited data the Get More plan doesn't throttle. In fact I've never experienced throttling even on the lower tier premium plans (Play More) even after using several hundred gigs.
If your area has access to C-band 5G UWB it is significantly faster than LTE/"5G" Nationwide. That could be another reason to switch to the new plans.

Now it seems a waste unless you are blazing data non stop

We only buy unlocked phones to keep verizon software off the phones because Verizon forces mfr's to disable tethering if you have the old Nationwide Talk & text plans.
Furthermore, a year before Covid I started watching/listening to a youtube channel with 3-4 hour streams, so I was using 40gb+ of data unthrottled.
With Covid and wfh I've been using my home wireless and a strong router, which is probably faster than 4G or 5g, I barely use anywhere near the same data, but I haven't jumped off the plan because it's still the best plan that I wouldn't be able to get back. Also, my kids are getting older and I might start tethering more often now.
