I returned a defective mobo they didn't give me a full refund and they charged a restocking fee, that's the last time I brought anything computer related from Newegg.

The DDR5 results clearly showed that. The performance difference in gaming between the two extremes (DDR4-2133 C15 and DDR5-6400 C36) was only around 8%. However, once we stepped up to something better, like DDR4-3200 C15, DDR5-6400 C36 was only 2% faster.Dec 19, 2021

DDR5 not worth it currently you can save over $100 by going 16GB DDR4 for $60 or even upgrade to 32GB DDR4 and save money i7 12700k and Z690 ASRock Steel Legend DDR4 is $475 with promo code PAX22343

I quit buying from Newegg for the same reason. Now would be the time, though, after the fiasco with Gamers Nexus. They're in PR repair mode right now. Hopefully they learned their lesson, but I'm not giving my hopes up. I'd honestly love it if Microcenter did more online sales, opened more stores, and just replaced Newegg and Best Buy. That would be the dream. I've heard so many good things about them, but my nearest Microcenter is 4.5 hours away.

Newegg used to be the place to be. They've been around so long, I'm almost nostalgic for them at this point. Sadly It seems there only the same in name these days.

Nope. What's going to happen is that there will continue to be hardware revisions to the mobo to improve performance and compatibilities to faster ddr5 ram so either way, you'll most likely be replacing the mobo no matter if it's ddr4 or ddr5 version. Best to keep what you have as ddr4 is a mature platform that won't give you any problems. Wait 2 or 3 years for ddr5 to mature like ddr4 did when it just came out.

The RAM isn't compatible according to the MB manufacture's website and some reviews on Newegg.

I decided to pass after talking to Newegg sales team. If one thing doesn't work you have to return all three due to the combo sku

Bought this last time it was frontpage, the ram and Mobo are compatible, it's just picky. When I did my first boot after putting it all together I was getting a no vram error. Had to boot it with only 1 stick of ram on slot 2 to get into bios. After setting up I put the 2nd stick back in and everything worked fine. Haven't messed with xmp yet however.

How's XMP so far? Is it reading the correct speed?
