I kind of feel like if you are going to go with 2 Ah for light weight and size, might as well go down to 1.5Ah. Then you could just get the set with 2x 1.5 Ah batteries, a charger and a drill for $31 after hack.

Or for $16 more than OP, get a 1.5 and a 4.0 Ah for best of both worlds, and then get a drill, impact driver, saw, and light to go with it 75 + tax after hack.

I have one of those (newer design) no anti skid rubber on the bottom batteries and it works well.

This is the slower charger. The same footprint "green" charger charges this battery in around 30 min or so. and can be safely left docked to top off.

This is a good deal if you are looking for 4 Ah.

This. Short of any glitches or in-store clearance items, this is about as cheap as it gets.

How does this work with a 2amp rated battery?
Quote :
Batteries Provide 1.5X the runtime compared to 1.5 Ah battery
1.5 x 1.5= 2.25 amps. Apparently, or maybe there is a certain amperage that cannot be used before the battery shuts down. So, a 1.5amp does not really have 1.5amp usable, nor by the same comparison with a 4amp, does the 2amp have 2amps usable.

For $20 more you can get two 4ah batteries and the intelliport charger (same charging speed but is a better charger). Better deal in my opinion.

Well, I'm confused.

From the deal thread you posted:

"the item you want has to be store pickup and the item you don't needs to be ship to home. from the orders page you can cancel the ship to home item"

From HD's website when trying to order the kit for in-store and the batteries for shipping:

"!Please make sure promotional items have the same delivery or pickup options and try again"

So how exactly does one do this "hack" if the site won't let you follow the instructions?

The answer is somewhere in this thread:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15682768-ryobi-one-18v-lithium-ion-cordless-4-tool-combo-kit-with-2-batteries-18v-charger-and-bag-74-89-after-hack-75-at-home-depot?v=1&src=SiteSearch

But since I am a nice guy, I will PM you.

But I still suggest you read at least he last page of the above thread for some helpful tips.

I had read the first few pages, which were extremely helpful in explaining the general process. Just didn't have that one last tip that snuck its way onto the last page. The PM (and the final page) definitely have the last little bit needed to make it all work. Thanks again!

I like these 2Ah over the 4Ah for nailers and routers. Easier to maneuver
