Pretty bad reviews but since most mention it's being slow it's most likely due to mechanical hard drive so be prepared to install M.2 SSD to gain good speeds, while mechanical can be still used as storage (install m.2, use program to copy the old drive then erase old one for storage which should be pretty simple). As far as CD/DVD it would just add extra weight and nowadays getting used rarely IMO.
As far as no touchscreen…..complaining for its price of $300 is….
It has full HD 15.6" lcd, 11th gen Intel i3 CPU, backlit keyboard, option for M.2 drive and while 8gb is basic it's still more than most of the laptops below $400 offer (it has 4GB soldered and one sodimm available with 4GB in it so 8GB stick or maybe even 16GB can be added).
WiFi supports AX 2x2 as well as Bluetooth 5.1

Based on this review [laptopmedia.com], the RAM is upgradable and it does have a sd card reader. There is also an additional M.2 slot for ssd.

I agree with the other comments. Out of the box, this laptop will be slow and offer a poor user experience due to the mechanical hard drive. If you have the technical savvy to add a SSD drive into the M2 slot, install Windows on the SSD, then format the 1 TB mechanical drive for extra storage, then this will become a solid machine with good performance for the price. You can get a 240 GB M2 SSD for around $40 to $50.

Is this a better deal at $30 lower? The only difference I see is Windows 10?

It says it has an HDD and an M.2 slot. Is it possible to simply not use the M.2 slot and instead replace the HDD? I have an old SSD laying around and I'd rather do that than buy another drive.

Staples HP deal has four core i3 which is twice as good and has 256gb SSD already. For $50 more it saves money and hassle of replacing the ssd and you still have a much better CPU…

Edit: NVM that deal is dead now. Id still wait for that or get the gateway from Walmart than tinker with this.

I purchased this one instead https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...56-Screen/ at $269. Didn't turn it on at all, swapped the HDD to a 1TB Western Digital SSD, and it's not slow at all! I did run into a problem where my SSD was not recognized, and after researching for a couple hours and almost giving up I found a video that explains there's an option in BIOS which needs to be toggled. Here is the video is anyone else encounters the problem : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=41C...e=youtu.be

Backlit Keyboard, Windows 11, and a nice looking machine. I've got no complaints (upon upgrading to SSD).

There is a cover over the RAM. Do I release the cover my undoing the small clips on the sides? These are very small clips. Is there a tool to use to get these clips to open to release the cover? Just don't want to be breaking things off.

Otherwise the laptop is very easy to open to upgrade the hard drive.
