Pretty bad reviews but since most mention it's being slow it's most likely due to mechanical hard drive so be prepared to install M.2 SSD to gain good speeds, while mechanical can be still used as storage (install m.2, use program to copy the old drive then erase old one for storage which should be pretty simple). As far as CD/DVD it would just add extra weight and nowadays getting used rarely IMO.
As far as no touchscreen…..complaining for its price of $300 is….
It has full HD 15.6" lcd, 11th gen Intel i3 CPU, backlit keyboard, option for M.2 drive and while 8gb is basic it's still more than most of the laptops below $400 offer (it has 4GB soldered and one sodimm available with 4GB in it so 8GB stick or maybe even 16GB can be added).
WiFi supports AX 2x2 as well as Bluetooth 5.1
Based on this review [laptopmedia.com], the RAM is upgradable and it does have a sd card reader. There is also an additional M.2 slot for ssd.
I agree with the other comments. Out of the box, this laptop will be slow and offer a poor user experience due to the mechanical hard drive. If you have the technical savvy to add a SSD drive into the M2 slot, install Windows on the SSD, then format the 1 TB mechanical drive for extra storage, then this will become a solid machine with good performance for the price. You can get a 240 GB M2 SSD for around $40 to $50.

Good for a kid or grandma, or somebody that doesn't want power or features

Wow,

29 of the 49 reviews are 1 star. Lol

Sounds like mostly the hard drive is a piece of junk. So - 512GB to 1TB M.2 will add $50 - $100 (or less with sales). It comes with 4GB soldered and 4GB upgradable. That'll cost extra as well. 8GB is ok for just basic usage though.

Depends on if you're ok with spending extra to upgrade otherwise it sounds like it struggles a bit as configured - with that many 1 stars. Ouch.

Post the full model name of the CPU next time. Especially since the Tiger Lake i3 can be dual or quad-core.

Any idea if this can be charged through the USB C port?

Would this be a good ssd to upgrade to?

This route would be $300 for laptop + $100 SSD = $400 or should I get the Acer deal at Microsoft?

That one is among the best Gen3 SSDs. The SSD alone is 1/3 of the price of this laptop. I'd say it's a bit overkill.

Edit: I think the P31 would be a better pair for higher end laptops but if you do need 1TB ssd then that's a good deal.

I watched several videos on adding the M2 drive, that seems very easy. What would be the best way to swap the OS to the SSD?
