For being out on the water polarization is a must! That's where the benefit is.

They do but you get used to it.

My SO recently was in the market for sunglasses and she actually asked me what polarized meant. When she received them she said everything looked weird and I tried them on and saw nothing. Then she said look at the windows in the car and saw the funky colors.

I tried my sunglasses and they were doing the same. I had been wearing polarized so long I didn't even "see" the weirdness anymore.

I bought a pair and returned it without a problem (frame was too big). I kept another frame, Ray Bans. I'm no expert on fake RB's but based on a Google search they are real.
If you don't believe me just look at all previous deals from this website. Someone ALWAYS asks the same question for some reason.

I hate polarized lenses. I wear sunglasses when I ride motorcycles and you cannot have the helmet shield down with polarized lenses. It creates a rainbow effect. This rainbow effect also sometimes presents itself when I'm not wearing a helmet.
