Every time this pops up, I debate buying it. I'd need this, the brush cutter attachment, and 300 ft of extension cord or do I want to go with the 40V 15" and the brush cutter attachment for a little more money and a lotta bit more convenience?

Yeah I also contemplated on previous postings and actually went for it on the last. For this price, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's powerful, sometimes overkill. It will blast through a lot. Personally don't like battery systems because a battery will degrade over time. I like the constant power delivery of corded stuff. Ideally gas powered is best of both worlds but I guess that has it's own drawbacks. Anyways, it's a solid machine and compared to the budget harbor freight model that I bought for the same price it's not even comparable. Hope that helps.
finally decided to buy after chasing the "lower prices" claimed in an earlier offering. Picked it up recently and see it appears well built and heavy duty. got it specifically to use with a (garage sale) expand-it tiller attachment which it connects to fine (planning on doing the tiller work later). Really didn't need another weed wacker (already have both corded and battery types), and my old 2 cycle trimmers were made before expand-it became popular - I won't miss all that gas and oil using this version doing the tilling. Maybe in the future a hedge trimmer or limb cutter will be purchased. One benefit I've seen with professional tree trimmers using their gas model is the heavy engine is located near the operator (stihl). It's much easier to handle than to have an electric motor at the cutting end of a 15' pole, so it would be the same for this corded model - wish I knew this earlier.

Corded yard tools are an exercise in frustration. I went cordless and love it.

Until you run into the issue of dead batteries or batteries no longer holding charge. I went the other way, go rid of all my cordless and gas lawn equipment and went corded. Once you got cord management figured out, its the best thing.

Lithium-ion batteries have been great for me. They typically last a very long time. When it goes bad, buy a new battery, or if you are really cheap like me, pop it open and replace the cells.
Got this last time it popped up to see if it would power my Stihl Kombi attachments. Turns out it works fine with them, though I may modify the Stihl tools' drive shaft to make the fit 100%
Good deal, but the convenience of cordless will make me more likely to do the lawn. With corded, you need to have an extension long enough, which is an extra cost, plus maybe the cost of having to buy a new cord after dragging it around, and reeling back up afterward. Just my 2 cents.

Yup. I wonder if there's a hack to make it cordless.

Only rich people look down on the corded poor.
