Got my S7+ 8GB, 256GB for $375 from the debacle. Getting $600 for the trade in. But for the S8+ with the same specs I will need to pay almost another $400. Not sure it is worth upgrading.

It's not much if a upgrade. I jumped from a S7+ to a S8U myself, with the performance debacle with GoS, there's not much of a leap there.

Which S8U did you jump to? I have a 256 GB S7+ ($68.68) from the S21U promo March 3rd, 2021, but am aware only the S8 line gets the guaranteed 4 years of updates. Though with how great the S7+ deal was and how I only use it for Plex, I am unconvinced to shell out $500+ for the S8U (256 seems most logical). Though I wish S7+ max brightness was a lot brighter...

Bear in mind the difference is only $42.50 total when trading in S7 vs. S7+ for a S8 Ultra 128GB. I'm getting a total of $467.49 vs $424.99. Difference is $50, but Samsung is giving a $7.50 higher EDU discount for trading in a S7 than a S7+.

Its showing $67 to upgrade to the S8 with both S7 and 9.7 ipad trade-in. I get $50 google play so maybe itll be worth it. Ill get to keep the s7 box with new s pen and charger which i can maybe sell for $25 so at the end it wont cost much to upgrade

I bit on this one, even though I feel like there may be a better deal at some point (I mean, isn't there always?). Traded in an s7+ and with the first responders discount and $30 in points from a previous purchase, it came to $274.11 (CA tax is a killer at $79.72). The Google play credit is as good as cash for me, since I can pay for my YouTube TV bill with it, so not bad for the upgrade. Thanks for posting this, OP!

Previous deal had free keyboard case, free RAM tier upgrade, and slightly better TIVs and devices allowed to trade I think.

The S7+ vs the S7 screens are very different. The S7+'s screen is so vibrant, makes the S7 look like the colors are washed out colors.

I'm assuming the S8 screen differences will be the same so... if size isn't a deciding factor, consider the S8+ or S8U or the regular S8.

I have the same model as you and I've watched numerous reviewers compare the 2 and it's definitely not worth upgrading. It's very early into the S8 life span and there will no doubt be much better deals in the future to be had on it and rather that's months or a year(s) away I'd still wait.

This is my thinking.
I have the S7+ with the 256GB. And the Keyboard.
I am not seeing any huge upgrade here...and the idea of paying hundreds to have no noticeable user experience upgrade makes no sense to me.

I have a 256gb S7 (wife) and 512gb S7+ (mine). I am highly tempted to trade in the S7 for the S8+ and get in on this deal. I wish they still offered the 512Gb storage variant of the S8+. I've gotten spoiled by carrying EVERYTHING around on my tablet! The longer OS support guarantee is tempting from the S8 as well but beyond that I don't see a ton of benefits.
