eufy Security Outdoor Cam Pro 2K is a wired 2K Wi-Fi surveillance camera that is completely free of the bounds of an external system hub- instead storing all the information locally in the 32gb SD card that comes with it. Check your high-quality, encrypted, 2K footage whenever you need to via the eufy Security app and only be alerted of the things that matter with AI Human and Pet detection. Outdoor Cam Pro is not compatible with eufy HomeBase. The USB adapter is not waterproof, a cover is required for outdoor use.

Additional Note; Pretty sure all time low. These are the 2k cameras, but only available in the color black.

With the firmware/app update in December of last year this is no longer the case 🥳
You can get USB cables up to like 43' on Amazon. Flat style ones can be run thru sliding windows easily enough, easy to run round cable thru the upper corners of your garage door's weather stripping flap/molding, just run an extension cord close to where you want one, etc. You're dealing with 5v 1amp power between the USB power adapter and the camera, so there's basically no way you could get shocked or anything else bad would happen.
There are certain key differences between wireless and wired cameras due to nature of technology.

Length of footage - A battery powered camera is not always on to conserve power. Most use PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor to detect motion. Once the sensor detects motion, Camera turns on and starts recording. No matter how good is the speed of camera being turned on, it is not zero, a wired camera starts recording as soon as it detects motion so in most of the cases a wired camera will capture more.
Preroll - Since they are always on, most of the wired cameras keep a rolling buffer of live footage in memory(3-6 seconds). Once they detects motion, they can add this footage to the clip. This gives you clip with footage of what happened a few seconds even before camera detected motion. This combined with above makes a massive difference in experience specially for doorbells where you only get back of delivery guy in most cases with a battery powered camera,
2X7 Recording - Most of the battery powered cameras will not give you an option to record 24X7 even when connected to a power source. There are few exceptions like google with their Gen 2 outdoor camera but most don't
Notification speed - This varies greatly between brands as it depends on a lot of factors like onboard hardware, scale and speed of cloud services, quality of object detection etc but in principle, a wired camera from the same brand will give faster notification then a battery powered camera

My recommendation would be to always go for a wired camera unless power wiring is not at all possible.
Hope this helps.

Color me impressed. Bought it last night and it arrived at 11am.

The only downside is that it doesn't have live streaming across all devices like Wyze.

Welp, time to sell my Wyze cams.

I think that's bestbuy's local delivery service. Not sure who they hire exactly, but it comes separate from the main carriers. You can check the tracking number to confirm.

But it says it right there. When recording continuously onto sd card, it downgrades to 1080p

Prior to December it did that on all of them after December unless this specific camera model is somehow different than the even cheaper indoor 2K cameras they changed it so you can choose to record at 2K resolution even when doing 24/7. I don't understand why they didn't shout from the rooftop but my guess is they didn't want to draw attention to the fact that it used to record at 1080p when you opted for 24/7 at the time that I'm replying to you it says under overview/more "Record 24/7, 365
With Continuous Video Recording (CVR), Outdoor Cam 2k records continuously, so you can scan through your entire video history: See everything before, during, and after an event." Nothing about downgraded quality (deal is no longer valid so it doesn't matter). All the ptz and stationary indoor 2k cameras I have from this company once updated with the latest firmware record 24/7 at 2k so it's highly unlikely this single later model on the same card format doesn't do the same but anything is possible....

Edit: when you choose continuous recording there is an info button you can click on clicking on that goes to an older article that does say image recording is reduced to 1080p for SD card health however since around December with all my devices at 2K downloading clips shows a clip resolution of 2k, and since December it doesn't pop up a window when you choose continuous recording to tell you that it is dropping the resolution down to 2k. If you are referring to that article my guess is eufy didn't change it when they pushed the changes to all of the cameras. That or suddenly after December they are up converting all of their 1080p recordings when you download it. Between those two options I think it's more likely they forgot to update the article but like I said anything is possible...

Edit 2: apparently it now does both. Downloading motion or sound triggered events gives you a 2K resolution clip the 24/7 viewing if you make a non triggered clip (and download it to your phone) it's only in 1080p. I suppose this is better than forcing all recording activity to 1080p and gives a longer lifespan to the SD cards but considering how cheap SD cards are it seems a little silly to force a switch between resolutions based on a trigger 🤷

Ouch, bummed I missed this one. Got hit with a gnarly cold and spent most of the day KO'd. "Never sleep on SlickDeals", my mother used to tell me.

IIRC, this is the first time for these to hit this price, is that right? Hopefully, it comes back again.

Got my cameras in today but I'm having a terrible time trying to set them up. I can connect to them just fine and I have strong wifi throughout the house, however, i cannot format the SD card on either of the 2 I've opened and I cannot update the firmware either. When I try to format the SD card, it just times out after a bit. When trying to update the firmware, it gets to 4% and gives up. Like I said, I have super strong wifi throughout the house and have even taken one of the cameras down right near my wifi router and same issue. I'm using the eufy app on a one plus 7t android phone. I've not been able to find anyone else having the same issues. At first I thought maybe one of the cams was bad so I opened another but its behaving exactly the same.

It's a problem with the android app. I was able to set up the cameras on my ipad and format the cards and update the firmware. Doing anything else fails though with the android app on my oneplus 7t.

I'm still having problems with these. It appears that unless they are sitting right next to an access point, they dont work well. I get alerts on them when they notice movement, but I'm unable to connect to actually watch the stream on either my ipad or android phone now. WIFI signal strength is good but still having connectivity issues across the board with these but not with anything else in my house.

Eufy warranty is a scam, they really make you jump through the hoops before they will honor the warranty. The amount of time wasted back and forth is so farking frustrating.

Such a good camera. Just set this up on my porch. Looooong usb power cable. Should have bought 2 more to replace my WYZE ones which have questionable security issues.

Yes they do. Generic RTSP protocol to Synology surveillance station. I have mine running on it right now
