Step 1) Buy LG V30 on eBay for $50 in flawless condition

Step 2) Root it and install Android 11 on it

Step 3) Enjoy all the features it has that are better than the Nord N200

Step 4) Instead of buying a yearly plan for ~$15/month through an MVNO, pay T-Mobile ludicrous amounts for their garbage plans so you can get a statement credit and a new Oneplus Nord N200.

Hard pass.

You'll still have to pay shipping and tax on the new phone. Comes out to $20-$30 depending on your sales tax. Just FYI

I successfully did this before but it was a huge hassle. That said I am logged into my tmobile account, and the only option I see is to add a line. It does not allow me to pair to a current line I have with tmobile. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do love a good backup phone.
Same boat. Forcing the add a line option.

When your are logged on and checking out each voice line under "Account", there should be something that says "Upgrade Available". You click that and then it takes you the phone selections you can shop for. As you browse through that, a pop up menu should show up and you should pick Upgrade A Current Device option. This is how it shows up on my account https://imgur.com/a/dVXBM3T

2 years of bill credits (essentially a contract) for a $200 phone. Yikes.

Just did this on the revvl came out to about 50 per phone. They do charge a upgrade of $30 and tax per phone. I traded in a sprint phone and a flip phone.
Did Tmo guy take your phones or give you prepaid shipping labels for mailing your trade-in phones?

I'm so annoyed with my Pixel 6 that I'm tempted to get this just to try it out. I have spare phones to trade in. I came from a OnePlus 6t which I loved and am disappointed with the Pixel 6. I've heard OnePlus has gone downhill. Think it's worth a try?
This is worst than the 6T. I cant imagine it would be better than the pixel 6 either. I have all 3 phones.
They do have a deal for trade in for the 10 pro but as you said, OP has gone downhill

I have 9 lines on max and pay $10.66 per line. The trick was picking up all the free lines in the last 2 years. I have 6 free lines and with the new insider my bill is $96 a month.

Once you move to a 9 line plan the free line credits increase to $40, from $30,which depending on how many free lines you have drops the bill $10 each.

For me on Magenta Max 9 lines is $360 (after auto pay) - $240(6 free lines) = $120 - $24(20% off insider) = $96 total. If I had the old insider, I would only be paying $48 for 9 lines because of how the discount order is applied.

Either way. There are people out there with the old simple choice or One plans that pay less than $3-4 a line.
I get that but I thought you lost the free lines on a plan change? And yes, everyone should be at 9 lines or above as my free line credits went from $20 to $30 on the One plan. I've checked on the Magenta Max and I'd lose 20% off hookup code for sure and also the kickback option on 8 of 9 lines. I swore the free lines dropped off too but will look again as something may have changed. I want on that plan for one reason only and that's to get the better trade in values and phone deals.

If you don't need badly right now, its better to pass because of that 24 months long bill credit. You may get better deals on Samsung n iphone specially before ip14 launch. So keet that line ready, instead if taking this phone which might stay forever in drawer blocking the future deal on line

I could not agree more. While this is not for everyone, I think there's plenty of folks who can definitely benefit from these free with any trade promos especially since they don't require adding a line. My kids are using these same free phones from the last deal and they are working out pretty well for my family.
How do you trade in without upgrading to a current phone on one of your lines?

iP14 is 5+ months away. And different class of phone. Don't think many people who want an iPhone are getting this, and because of getting this N200, are not going to get an iPhone in the end. You can grab this now, pay off the remaining balance in 5 months, and then jump on the iPhone deal (and the N200 bill credits will still come in monthly). And perhaps get a few hundy in trade value towards iP14.

Some people have enough lines to get a phone such as this on an extra line or kids line etc, and then still get flagship launch phones on the adults lines/main lines, etc. etc. if they don't want to have to pay off the N200 early and the get paid back monthly.

I would be checking what the Mother's Day deal is going to be. They leaked a $99 S21FE with new line for most plans (and an airpods Pro/Beats $0 down 24 payments deal as well). . .but there is mention of one additional (hopefully better) deal that will be released internally at T-MO on Friday. . .Per JMAN100 @ his website https://tmo.report/

Correct. We do not have that many lines, so usually I pay off early just to free up the "lines". The credit would basically give me discount on my bills, or sometimes no need to pay bills at all

repped, thx

Not sure what you're asking. Can you elaborate? The person you were responding to was suggesting trading in a junk phone towards a free after bill credits N200. So they were trading in and "upgrading" vs. the flip phone they traded in. The trade in phone doesn't have to be active on a line to be traded in (unlike Sprint) if that helps. . .i.e. for this deal a tracfone flipper that's been sitting in the drawer for years (and not even TMO compatible) can be traded in as long as it turns on and isn't cracked up.

And they were emphasizing that this deal is for those that have a plan on TMO that 24 months more wouldn't matter to you.

There seems to be 2 promotion going on w/ this phone (1 being adding a line), but the one listed on their TMO website is definitely this deal, which is trade in 'any' phone w/o adding a line. To get this offer, you will need to 'upgrade' a line but when choosing which device to trade in make sure you choose on the bottom trade in a different phone. As others noted, in the dropdown menu when choosing your phone, there's an option to choose a 'Z5g Upgrade Promo All Carriers'.
