Step 1) Buy LG V30 on eBay for $50 in flawless condition

Step 2) Root it and install Android 11 on it

Step 3) Enjoy all the features it has that are better than the Nord N200

Step 4) Instead of buying a yearly plan for ~$15/month through an MVNO, pay T-Mobile ludicrous amounts for their garbage plans so you can get a statement credit and a new Oneplus Nord N200.

Hard pass.

You'll still have to pay shipping and tax on the new phone. Comes out to $20-$30 depending on your sales tax. Just FYI

Is it normal to get a text saying: A quote $0 was accepted for your XXXXX device with serial number xxxxxxxxxxx.

Also, on Your Order history page, under trade in device TRADE-IN ASSESSMENT
Original estimated value:$0.00

Are both normally $0 ?
For the really old phones, yes. Their trade in values are $0. But because of the promo, you'll still get the full credit such that the phone comes out free.

I have an old sprint phone "Kyocera Kona S2151 Cellular Phone" and there is no IMEI or MEID. Can I still trade in since they ask for IMEI number.

You know, I normally hate posts like this that tell people to stick with old options, but this is different. I use an LG V50 mainly, and it's great, but I also have a 128GB, unlocked V30 that STILL holds its own. I upgraded over a year ago so I could use Verizon prepaid 5G, but I literally never see 5G service where I live and work, and the V30 still does everything my V50 and newer phones do, and it does this very well. I generally buy 1 year-old or previous generation flagship phones, but you can get a V30 for dirt cheap and it will do 98% of what new $1000 phones can do, with a screen that looks pretty damn good.

So I agree. My next phone will probably be a Oneplus, since LG stopped making phones, but I see little point to buying lower midrange phones like this when older flagships are equivalent but cheaper. And yes, you are buying a Nord or something like this, even though it is "$0," since it is via bill credits for TWO YEARS. I'd much rather buy upfront and not be tied to a company or plan for that long. People will scoff at the idea of buying a V30 now, but it actually makes a lot of sense.

Just as a confirmation, I can do this deal and switch back to my primary phone? Or do I even need to activate the phone? I have a Pixel 6 as primary and I want to keep it as such. First time doing this cellular juggling.

Yes, you don't need to activate the phone. I have two from the previous deal and they are still in a box almost 6 months now and I still get the bill credits for both phones. Fyi, I have 2 iPhones on both lines which I pay monthly.

I have a question, please. Can we go to store and return our device without charging the store fee or is there any free way to send the device back to them without spending any money??? Appreciate

Website is hard to use and buggy, Only way I find out is by calling them and then they will charge you extra $30. I ended up trading a different phone.

Yes. There's a $30 customer assistance fee though if you do it in store.

Oh, I wish I saw this sooner. I got the same text with $0 quote, so I called and canceled the order. Now I have to place a new one… thanks!

Yeah, I really wanted to like the V50, but anything custom on it generally slogged. Only area my V30 is lacking is camera - battery even lasts longer on the V30 than the V50 despite it being bigger on the V50. 5G made no noticeable difference from LTE.

It's a shame there's almost no phone manufacturers that include headphone jack and microsd. I really want to like the Oneplus, but after my Nexus 5X died I swore I'd never have a phone without microsd. The Xiaomi redmi looks nice, but not waterproof.

So, T-Mobile is buying your loyalty for the next 24 months. This phone probably cost T-Mobile 50 dollars. Keeping us on post paid contract for 24th months must be a lot more lucrative over giving away a lousy phone (locked?).
