Many will want to use this offer to swap out the old phones sitting in their desk drawers. Here is the best way to do it, avoiding activation fees and out of stock stores.
1. Locate your trade in phone. Ensure it does not have a cracked screen, and that it turns on. Factory reset it. Write down the IMEI number, make, model, and color. This can be any phone as long as it meets these conditions, even candy bar from 1999.
2. Call TMobile (dial 611). Say "activation"
3. Inform the CS that you want to take advantage of the OnePlus Nord 200 5G trade in offer. Specify which line, and provide CS the details in step #1. Request that the activation fee be waived.
4. Provide a CC# to pay for the tax (~$20).
5. You will get an email for a JUMP! lease. Open it in DocuSign, and sign it. ENSURE that the details are correct - Nord 200 5G in exchange for the exact phone you detailed in #1. After signing, you will get a confirmation email and tracking #. You will also get a shipping label (see below if you don't get it in your email). Print the whole document in color as directed, or print just the shipping label in B&W and see step #6.
6. When the Nord 200 5G arrives, use the same box (so you don't have to print the lithium battery warning label in color - there's one on it) and put your old phone in. Make sure that it is fully charged, that it is wiped, and if it is an Apple device, that you have disabled device tracking. Remember to remove your sim card, and any SD memory cards. You do NOT need to include cables or chargers. Alternatively, see step #7.
7. You can also go to an Tmobile Store (not authorized dealer). Inform them of where you are on the promotion, and tell them that you would like to turn the phones in to them in person. Ask them to look up your account and verify with you that these are the same phones by IMEI. Do not leave without a receipt for each phone you turn in, and save that receipt.

- Each month you get a $9 charge
- Each month you get a $9 credit.

And if T-mobile wants me to upgrade so they can shut down their network, they are going to have to cough up a better deal. I also don't agree with cellphone manufacturers that charge ridiculous amounts for a new phone. As a point, I have had a cell (car) phone pretty much since inception and have NEVER paid for a phone. It sucks that as a society we have accepted this business model. I would assume phones of yesteryear were far more expensive to produce than something nowadays. I can't believe it is common practice to buy a phone like it's a car (with monthly payments to match.) It's mind boggling that people are o.k. spending almost $1500 for a phone that they will probably have for 24 months or less before upgrading again…
*Overally happy w/ your T-Mobile service/coverage.
*NO plans to leave T-Mobile for 2years.
As for the phone itself.
*YES, lower end phone vs the EXPENSIVE Apple and Samsung.
*If your needs are simple: texting, phone calls, web browsing, simple photos, simple videos, you will be fine. If you are a high end user/editor, you will need a more robust phone. I would speculate that this simple lower end phone will meet the needs of 90% of the worlds population. But everyone wants the latest and shiniest Apple/Samsung.

*Have old obsolete phones using/collecting dust. I traded my old Samsung (Note4 and Galaxy S5), that have NO value anywhere, 4G, sitting in a junk drawer, so why not. When the new Nord N200 arrives, I will have two spare 5G capable phones to use, allow out of country friends use when visiting, or keep in reserve should I loose/break my expensive Samsung phones (Note20, Galaxy S10e).
When I did the online order, I looked up my trade in, a Samsung Galaxy S6, and it generated a trade in value of $216 vs a cost of the new phone of $218. Anyway, I'm a bit confused regarding how to return the trade in or what I need to do next.

Also I got a sms from TMO, saying I can also drop the phone off to the retail store? Anybody done it this way instead of shipping it back? I rather just drop it off because there's a tmo store down the street from me.

I put in the brand, model number, IMEI number etc but the only available option to move the order forward is "add to a new line".
Any suggestions on how to do this without adding a line?
